Yeah, there’s really no point posting about it here anymore. Yoshida clearly doesn’t care, lol. Which, is fine by me. I’ll kindly play different games that actually welcome challenges and hard work, unlike this game. My sub still has awhile till it’s gone. I hope a future MMO makes FFXIV obsolete somehow. And if there is a new FF mmo, you’re gonna have to hope and pray it’s not directed by Yoshida. Cause if it is, history will simply repeat itself. I don’t care for that

Right, just because they removed a bunch of samey boring buttons, you are going into full "I hate the game" mode to the point you wish another MMO would kill it off, because you can't stand to see other people enjoying it and having fun?

Steady hand was not a samey boring button. Removing it and bumping the success rate of most abilities to 100% was a straight up simplification.

The whistle mechanic for specialists had potential too, if only good statuses were not so rare for mastercraft recipes. But rather than adjust the mechanic to be worth using, they removed it entirely.

You put a post expressing your desire too see another MMO wipe out FF14 and you expect people not to be irked?? As I said in my last post there are mmo's with challenging grind fest crafting just they require dedication and aid from the community to be successful. Be that through making friends or making money to get what you need to progress. If you are so hungry for something hard find one and try it, You got Pantheon that is in the works you also have everquest p99. There are even private starwars galaxies servers out there and that games crafting system craps all over current mmo crafting systems. If the crafting in FF14 is not to your liking find a MMO that has one that is!!!

Just dont go in expecting to gung ho solo your way through it, if thats what your after you will have even harder time finding a MMO too enjoy.

If you think this FF14 is the king...you are way off. Its in WoW shadow and just big enough to be noticed not much else. And what point really what point?? That you got your jimmies in a bunch cause things are not the way you want them to be..get over it. Move on finding something else if your not happy!! This goes to anyone not happy with FF14, if you are so soured by where its going to the point you want the game dead...then LEAVE THE GAME AND FORUMS. Cause honestly you are just tormenting yourselves..

WoW has been bleeding subs left and right, and if it weren't for them releasing WoW Classic (which will eventually die out, it is inevitable unless they decide to start doing like TBC classic, but eventually they will run out of expansions to Classic with), they would be in a rather bad position right now. BfA was rather underwhelming, and I've been hearing people saying how they're tired of the samey death and gloom stuff (which they're doing even more in the expansion coming up), as well as people saying how terrible the writing is in WoW lately. Meanwhile, FFXIV has only been growing and growing and growing.

Lately, Blizzard has a TON of Bad PR over the whole Blitzchung thing, not to mention the last few Blizzcons being rather underwhelming, Overwatch isn't doing all that hot lately, I don't hear anybody talking about Hearthstone anymore.

Blizzard isn't this immovable mountain that everybody thinks it is.

I don't think Blizzard is immovable. But wow is still number one for the moment. Why I don't play wow I prefer it stay number one so it can continue to be a crap filter for FF14.

If there's any recommendations on games with a bit more challenge and hard work I'm open to them. I'm in the same boat, my motivation just fizzled and I haven't been bothered to log on much in the last month.
I personally don't want the game dead, It has potential and I'll have nothing to do with Blizzard, WoW is a terrible game now. But as amazing as ShB started out, it's gradually leeched my motivation to play. Nothing feels worth doing here.

I have no hope for this patch. We've been fed the same "wait and see, it'll get better" ever since 5.0 where we breezed to lv80 effortlessly in lv70 gear. It's next year and we're coming up to 5.2 now. The patch is coming from the same development team who has been consistently simplifying everything to do with crafting all expansion. Expecting a miracle is unrealistic. Like I said before, they can't revamp crafting to require moderate effort again because the damage is done. There'd be uproar from players who are now used to sailing from 1-80 in a day or two from simple skybuilder crafts.
Even if Ishgard crafts are challenging, it's not max level crafting. It's a niche bit of side content and leaderboards have very limited slots.

You do realize if anyone is giving away items due to quitting, we'll give them to friends and FC who deserve them, not forum trolls.

Look at this forum. Go merely 4 topics down from this one and the last post on it is over 3 weeks old. The 5th topic on the front page. This is after they handed crafting over to the entire casual player-base and tried to include everyone. Where's the interest? Where are the hundreds of new crafters with questions and feedback and discussion on the new abilities and things they made and rotations?

I see plenty of people crafting in the 3 towns in-game.

The forums is only a very small sample size of the game, and it tended to be the vocal minority who would frequent the forums the most. Just because the forums have gotten a bit more quiet, doesn't mean crafting is "dead", in fact, it seems very much alive. At least... maybe not the hardest of the hardcore endgame crafting, but then.... *shrug* Maybe that's a good thing?

Crafting should not be for the 1% of the playerbase. Or not even the 10%. The way crafting was before, it was just too much of a chore for so little return unless you went all the way which took more time than raiding, which was a bit ridiculous.
