Its actually disgusting on a whole new level how there is 0 counterplay for melee LB on a range in culling 2+
just wait until you get stunned or track the stun cd haha
or just fetterward haha

I honestly don't understand how SE is so bad at balancing this aspect of the game. Ranged DPS have to do so much to get kills yet you pick up something like DRG and you can get 5 kills in a row by hitting the same two buttons over and over again.
Do they even test their so called "balance changes" before they go live?

Ranged need a hp buff, too easy to farm in FL/RW for battle high and soaring stacks, can easily be killed in feast with proper use of cc, forces healer to dump cool downs on then to stay alive.
DNC feels like the only physical ranged you should be playing because of all the buffs and mobility it has, I rarely see BRD or MCH amongst the regular teams in feast matches.
Honestly, what they've done to ranged and healers (at least in FL) is so poor, I'm considering unsubbing for the first time in 6 years.
They balanced with a more developed meta in which as fit to the core concept of the Frontline.I honestly don't understand how SE is so bad at balancing this aspect of the game. Japanese never had issue with Ranges in a team-oriented large scale PvP; in matter of fact, it is often Black Mage becomes a mobile canon.
For us, we are unable to adopt to this meta because of individualism; people cares about individually over team success.
It is pretty easy to see pretty much 90% of ranges you encountered are dong it wrong.
Even until this day, I am still no clue why range would try to fight a meele not only in close range; also an open flat space instead of use terran as advantage.
Most of FFXIV's players come from the NA and EU region, I believe. Even though it's a Japanese game, it's not really feasible to expect NA and EU players to suddenly overhaul their approach to PvP to match the Japanese model. The irony is that it probably could have been possible back in the days where PvP was far more niche and had a small but very committed following. They balanced with a more developed meta in which as fit to the core concept of the Frontline.

These days it's mostly full of people just farming wolf marks for glamour and other items. They don't really care about winning since they get experience and wolf marks either way.
When it's a JMMO and the JP community are far more active in PvP than we are in the west, yeah it is.

It's not feasible since it's not going to happen. I'm sure the development team are well aware of that fact which is why they're so quiet about PvP related content and changes. They know a lot of the changes won't be popular in the EU/NA side of the fence and even when there's a massive backlash against something there's radio silence in response.
