We don't need bags. What we need are better ways of organizing our inventory, and there are better ways of doing that than a bag system.

I agree, we dont need bags just a better inventory system. I wasnt saying to do it like wow/eq/lineage, just learn with things they suceeded and specialy with their mistakes. Dont just copy/paste from wow but do not try to reinvent the wheel... if it works for other mmorpg it fits in FFXIV too. i'm not saying in this particular matter, but in alot others. We don't need bags. 2 systems is good. you can choose the one that you prefers.
I dislike skyrim bag. (menu>menu>menu>items ....)

I say just let SE make the decision. They have some good ideas so far xD
I know players have contributed ideas too. But SE has FFXIV under control no. Let's stop worrying about split hairs.

While I would merrily do just that if I was happy with the new team's decisions so far, the reality is that I've been very upset with a number of decisions they've made, to the point where I almost didn't resub once payments restarted.
At the same time, one of my big wishes is that I've wanted them to design the games themselves instead of letting the community play backseat driver for the development team, so maybe this is a blessing in (heavy) disguise.

Ugh, no. Skyrim's UI was a pain in the ass to use with a mouse, and scrolling through everything in the inventory trying to find what you were looking for was especially annoying. We don't need bags. Here's a better idea: just let us select the recipe for the item we want to make, and then have the necessary materials taken from our inventories automatically.

Skyrim's UI definitely had issues, but I wasn't saying we should use it. However, I do think the idea of segregating items based on item type is a fantastic idea. Skyrim was just an example of that (and maybe not the best one).
