Erm, how in the hell? I doubt that the buff is going to be a literal 1 second and anything over that makes it as long or longer than Superbolide, with WAY lower cd and not requiring to be healed to full like LD does.
But how would you balance it?Inner chaos and inner cyclone should have their old abilities tied to them. Inner Chaos with 20% dog reduction and heal, Inner Cyclone with the heal per hit. Vengeance gets a slight damage boost and duration is 15 seconds.
Tanks 30% dig reduction skills should all be 15 seconds, and they should do different things also. DRK, mana regen per hit, 200 mp. PLD path gauge regen per hit and GNB 10% shield.
Personally, I greatly prefer the cone. It has more reach and is easier to direct.Yeah... moving around to get overpower to hit everything sucks. Would be okay if you only had to do it once, but mobs move around as things die or as you move to avoid aoe, and having to reposition them to overpower several times a fight is kinda annoying. Should just both be 360 aoe at this point.
That said, couldn't they widen the damn thing? They could just use a truncated cone; start the full cone from begin the warrior, allowing it greater width, then cut out the section behind the Warrior. Donut AoEs have already proven that we can draw two shapes per AoE, one for expanse and another as a cut-out. There.
This. Though, I think that's more of an issue with the Crit stat in general. It still baffles me that they didn't just continue to have Critical Hit only affect Crit chance (not damage) but have excess chance turn into proportionately greater effect (e.g. a 120% chance to Crit where a Crit remains +50% damage would then give +60% crit damage (120% of 50%)).
Just like that, boom, no more Crit buff or Crit stat waste from Auto-crits and the stat no longer starts off expansions as a trap stat (in ShB's case until 3.5k+) or ends them as the god stat. Any of the would-be wasted crit chance acts simply as added crit damage.

The thing I hate is they got rid of a lot of their self sustain
That isn't a fair assessment though. People were more tolerate of Warrior's issues in Stormblood because it had something to compensate; high damage. It no longer has that compensation, and is undeniably the weakest tank in virtually every metric. It stands to reason people are going to be upset. Furthermore, you're seeing more complaints now due to the added clunkiness of Shadowbringers. Inner Chaos doesn't interact well, Eye became more of an annoyance and Nascent Flash has no reason to share a CD with Raw or lack a self target aspect. Add that to the little things Izsha mentioned and it all starts to add up.What you seem to describe, these tiny differences, mirror splitting hairs more than they do optimization. I'm absolutely confident that's not what most people are concerned with when they complain about WAR. I can tell you already, if WAR was number 1 in dps charts, most theses complaints threads would magically disappear into thin air, leaving only the overly-concerned with too much idle time on their hands.
I wager if they gave Warrior more oGCDs, fixed some of the clunkiness or even doubled down on it being an HP recovery machine, you'd hear far less complaints even if it remained the weakest tank in terms of damage.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
Yeah, I don't care about damage all that much to be honest. If it's close enough to other tanks to clear content the I'm fine.
The clunkiness is what really bugs me. Nascent Flash party target requirement is okay-ish for pve, but trash for frontlines pvp. It still should be self targetable in pve tho.
I'm not a big fan of inner chaos and how it functions with infuriate. Tbh, ever since they made infuriate in combat use only and then made inner release make all rage spenders free, I feel they should just scrap infuriate and make a new mechanic for wars.
If they ever get rid of inner release making all attacks direct crit, maybe they can just give that buff to infuriate.
Anyway, other clunky issues like how eye interacts with new aoe combo kinda bugs me too.
Its alreasy 5.1 and it doesnt seem like theyre addressing any of these things AT ALL.
I've sorta given up on any meaningful qol changes for wars at this point. I might cancel and resub once I see some good adjustments and come back to catch up on content. Not really feeling shb war.
Yeah they haven't touched tanks since release... its been over 3 months. And not even a "hey darks got x issues we're aware of it" or "hey wars got some clunkiness to it we'll take a look." Nothing. Nada.
The quickest thing they acted on was gnb sound effects and they made a change for the worse. Radio silence since then on that front too.
I'm kinda tired waiting on liveletter after liveletter hoping for some bit of news to suggest the issues i care about are being worked on, or at least acknowledged.
I really do appreciate all the other stuff they're working on like 24man content and crafter overhaul. But couldn't they at least address each of the combat jobs individually in the 5.1 live letter? Like 10 to 15 seconds for each job.
We hear job X players don't like this or that. We are investigating the issue. Something like that. Ninja, Sam and Sumn were already adjusted last patch, and not to say that their previewed changes for 5.1 isn't deserved, it is, but couldn't they have spent a minute or two talking about the 4 tank jobs?
And what about pvp? New map isn't coming out untio 5.15, but couldn't they preview some of the actions now? Doesn't matter how great the new frontline map is if the jobs are not fun to play in frontlines. A hem... warrior is not fun in frontlines... mostly because of nascent flash party requirement. At least allow cross alliance targeting with it. I don't enjoy having a dead action. Stormspath is nearly a dead action in frontlines too. Nothing. No real news on actions pvp or pve at all. I would have prioritized talking about pvp action adjustments over preview of the new map.
Well... anyway... that's enough belly aching from me...
