why dont you email SE your winning plan and let them now that you have analyzed all the data and im sure theyll look into it then, theyll prob even give you a job.I'm not sure what your trying to say. Couldn't understand your post properly, but If you are saying that companies look at other MMO's and copy what is successful, then giving us a plethora of different Chocobo breeds and options would be both giving us more mounts like other MMO's have and keeping it unique and true to the FF universe at the same time. To me, that's a double victory.
Well hopefully they'll read my post and fire me off an email... I'd say that's about as likely as them letting players ride Goobue's...

Agreed. It has to be an absoulte joke, there are soooo many other creatures that would be incredible to have as a mount, like a drake for example, and they choose this? Stupid, about as stupid as the moogle fight.A Goobue mount? I'm sorry but I think it's a bit silly. Someone much earlier in the thread mentioned they are all for new mounts so long as they are not ridiculously stupid... I'd say running around on a giant modified Bulbasaur is pretty dumb. I'm all for having new mounts, which is an opinion I didn't always have. I used to be a bit of a purist and went around saying that we should only have chocobos of varying colours and breeds. But after seeing so many other peoples pleads for more mount options I'd like to see those people happy.
Just the thought of people warping to Camp Dragonhead and then each calling a Goobue out of nowhere is quite traumatizing to me. I'm really unsure why the team feels the need to emulate other MMO's and include weird mounts. I'd say that giving us an abundance of Chocobo styles and designs to ride on, would make the game stand out even more that it would by giving us loads of different animals to ride.
If you actually look at the Chocobos throughout each FF game, they have clear distinct design differences. Heck, maybe they could exaggerate those differences to make even more of a difference. Longer ear feathers, Wide beaks, Bigger wings, longer tail feathers, fat chocobo, etc. These things could even have varying colors. A yellow chocobo with long black tailfeathers would be cool in my opinion.
Anyway, if the majority want more mounts then fine give us more mounts. I hope they just keep it sensible and for me, the Goobue is a joke.
Reallly no more stupid than riding giant yellow chickens or fighting with weapons made from the glowing horns of a demigod. Besides, I think this is the first of several mob mounts.
there is no lore behind this mount because there is no reason for it to be in this game. its dumb to add other mounts because then its just like any other game, and takes away from the believability of a structured world. it wont be obvious at first but when you eventually see people running around on every monster you fight, flying on a random mob, and bunny hopping to run down the road, it will be stupid.
and alot of people will say this is a cool game. but no one will be able to say this is a believable world.
i was drawn to FFXI above other mmos because the FF series always had this feeling that you were in another world, not so much that you were playing a game. this game is losing that.
i dont care if this is a gift. even if i dont use it, when other people do, it takes me out of this world and puts me in a game
yes alot more stupid. the chocobo has been designed to be a creature that you ride on. its a creature that was made to be ridable, and backed up by lore in many FF games. a gobbue and any other monster they want to make as a mount has been designed as a creature you fight. theres a big difference.
and it makes perfect sense that you get weapons made from the glowing horns of a demi god. it would be a different story if that demi god droped a random cool weapon that had nothing to do with him. but because its made from him, it makes sense
1. Watch the ul'dahn opening cutscene. It's sedated and it breaks out.there is 1.no lorebehind this mount because there is no reason for it to be in this game. its dumb to add other mounts because then its just like any other game, and takes away from the 2.believability of a structured world. 3.it wont be obvious at first but when you eventually see people running around on every monster you fight, flying on a random mob, and 4.bunny hopping to run down the road, it will be stupid.
and alot of people will say this is a cool game. but no one will be able to say this is a 5.believable world.

2. that's getting meteor casted on it.
3. they're not going with an open world so I can't see them implementing flight for the sake of going from loading screen to loading screen
4. isn't this going to be implemented after they cast meteor?
5. I disagree. It's not SE's fault that you have to change your immersion up to believe you're in a different world and yeah it's a game.

Since we like talking about worlds and such:yes alot more stupid. the chocobo has been designed to be a creature that you ride on. its a creature that was made to be ridable, and backed up by 1. lore in many FF games. a gobbue and any other 2.monster they want to make as a mount has been designed as a creature you fight. theres a big difference.

1. What the hell does any other FF game have to do with this world?
2. They also made Ahriman (which is supposedly one of the monster mounts) into a breed-able monster if we're taking other worlds into account. Look up Final Fantasy Tactics.
3. Where the hell is my Ifrit armor then?
1. i saw the uldahn cutscene. that makes sense to tame it, not to ride it1. Watch the ul'dahn opening cutscene. It's sedated and it breaks out.
2. that's getting meteor casted on it.
3. they're not going with an open world so I can't see them implementing flight for the sake of going from loading screen to loading screen

2. i dont know what you mean with this meteor thing.
3. they already showed a clip of us riding on an ahriman, and since they seem to be adding all this other stuff like mounts on everything, jumping and swimming, i would bet my money on them adding flight eventually.
4. again i dont get what you mean by the meteor thing.
5. and lastly. its not changing my immersion, its common sense, with bunny hopping, people dont do that in the real world. thats not me, thats common knowledge. swimming i dont have as much of a problem with. and i wouldnt have as much of a problem with the mounts but everyone is gonna be on some mount at all times, thats just not believable. its clear that it is a game, but a good RPG game designer does his best to cover that up
