"New game plus - quests will have no rewards..."

Maybe I'm missing something and this is just a convention I'm unfamiliar with because outside of FFXIV and, like, Animal Crossing I don't really play videogames, but what is the "+" in NG+ if it offers no rewards or benefits? New game "plus" would seem to imply that it's "over and above" simply starting a new game, no? I don't necessarily feel strongly that it should/should not have any *specific* rewards, but it seems like there should be...something? I love the story too, but not enough to do it all again for no reward(s).

True. It's actually less rewarding than starting a new character, that way you'd see the story again AND get all of the rewards which you could transfer back to your main character (gil, most equipment, other assorted stuff). If NG+ is truly zero reward, not even a title, then it sounds super niche like only for role playing that your original character is reliving the story.

Many of us have no interest in leveling from 1 again. I sure don't!

NG+ Literally means New Game Plus. Instead of starting a "New Game" (aka start from scratch), you start a new game in a special mode. In some iterations of this, it means having gear/level/items that you accumulated in the previous game at the start of the new one. In our FFXIV case, were getting something akin to that. The 'Plus' is having our characters current iteration available in MSQ where it shouldnt be possible? So gear/Levels pretty much. It boils down to being able to replay the game with what youve already accrued. If that doesnt fit your fancy, well thats fine. For a lot of people in this thread, the exp thing is irrelevant. They do want to replay MSQ for the sake of MSQ.
