SCH is fine ever since it got Energy Drain back.I haven't seen any threads about SCH issues in a while, only AST (and it's great that AST is being discussed). Have people come to accept the new normal? Are you just too tired to be upset anymore? Have you come to appreciate the changes after all? Are people accepting that AST needs changes more and putting the spotlight on them?
I still have issues with the SCH changes. Where are other people on SCH?
Pick a random job and play it for your weeklies. Then come back and tell us how much fun you're having running Expert roulette.

Scholar still has plenty of problems in the “fun to play” area of its class design. That and Eos/Selene is still gutted to a disappointing degree.
Okay. I played MCH in expert, while not 10/10 most amazing experience in my life, it was loads better than doing it on SCH, because I got to actually press buttons. Not asking for the class to be absolutely amazing and perfect in every piece of content, I just want to do more than spam art of war/broil until I'm completely numb.
Taking up the same challenge and taking another job in expert. I've done SMN and DNC in expert. Whilst SMN is unintuitive, clunky and has problems of its own, I enjoy the experience, I have way loads more to do versus SCH due to how long its rotation is. And Death flare, Bahamut and Phoenix all feel badass.
DNC whilst the DPS in the worst place in terms of balance always feels nice to play, I still feel busy and varied, whilst not being complex like SMN, it's an example of how you can still feel like you've got a varied toolkit and busy without it being complicated as it is simple to play. Still a lot more fun than SCH atm.
Both jobs I feel demonstrated how they can be in a bad place but still be fun to play. Whilst SCH, arguably in a good place is boring as heck.
I insist healers have never being that fun on dungeons.
Ask your tank to pull everithing and u will have a lot more fun.
They've never been perfect in dungeons, but I liked SCH quite a bit back in SB. Wasn't super duper 100% amazing, but spreading dots, throwing down shadow flare, and capping it off with miasama II was enough for me to feel engaged. And the bigger the pull, the more satisfying it was watching all those dots tick down.
I’ll second this. I didn’t play much in SB, but I’ll say that I actively enjoyed healing dungeons as a SCH in HW. Managing all my DoT effects, making the most out of cleric stance, trying to keep the party alive with my then much more limited (in terms of direct healing) toolkit. They've never been perfect in dungeons, but I liked SCH quite a bit back in SB. Scholar and healers in general need to have their secondary identity expanded on.
WHM needs to weave damage and healing better and have more abilities that combine both aspects. WHM is the damager of the three. No utility but enormous personal dps.
SCH should be the debuffing/enfeebling healer. Tactically use aetherflow to inflict potent debuffs to reduce damage done or increase damage taken. Then use the subsequent Fairy gauge generated to use the oCDs.
AST needs new ways to manipulate its buffs. Extend, spread or increase their potency.
Essentially, since healing/dps identities seem to be homogenized the devs should expand on the secondary support aspects of each job.
I agree that it’d be nice to get more variety in the support aspects... when you spend more than half of a fight using offensive skills, you need more variety in those offensive skills. No matter how interesting you make SCH’s mitigation it won’t change the fact that broil will be cast more than any other spell unless you make serious changes elsewhere.Scholar and healers in general need to have their secondary identity expanded on.

Unless SE redesigns all the encounters in the game from the ground up to actually require us to heal/mitigate a good 70% of the time even when we’re overheated and familiar with the fight a good chunk of how a healer feels to play will come from how their dps feels. And right now healers feel bad to play.
