SE already stated it's not going to be a "new game", the dramatic changes are the game's foundation -- Yoshida even said quests you have in progress will be reverted to it's starting state at 2.0 if it's not completed by then because of changes to the landscape and cutscene quality.
Quests != LoreSE already stated it's not going to be a "new game", the dramatic changes are the game's foundation -- Yoshida even said quests you have in progress will be reverted to it's starting state at 2.0 if it's not completed by then because of changes to the landscape and cutscene quality.
So you're telling me you know for 100% certainty that no quests are ever being modified for 2.0? For a game in this state the lore is not immutable. Quests explain pieces of the lore but often not the entire picture. When entire areas are being changed, classes being modified, and features being added, lore will be modified or otherwise added to explain things. Like another poster mentioned. . .the lore surrounding both CNJ and THM will be most likely be modified to align with the class changes. If a pet class is added at a later date new lore will be added specific to that class. Lore will have to be changed so the world makes sense to new players when the game relaunches.
I think you are reading between the lines and misinterpreting what Yoshida and other SE staff members have previously stated. It is likely that the the main story arcs will remain relatively unaltered.
Pretty sure I already said they are being modified, they mentioned they aren't going to be rewriting the content, but modifying their quality and information -- If (22,12) no longer exists, why would the journal map entry point you to that location?
