I think it's fun. I like the live random events.
The events are fun, but its very exclusionary. This is how you alienate players and make them quit, not how you attract new players.
You cannot have events like this if you do not have a means by which players are told when they start and end. To put it simply, It's not fair.
This and FFXI are the only games I've seen where everyone insists tehy have to be able to experience everything. Lots of games have events that come and go. I know a few games where big scary monsters are almost impossible, but when you kill them, they do not ever respawn again (though new monnsters eventually take their place). I personally find it exciting when I'm able to change something about the game world, or experience a spontaneous evemt. It makes the world feel more alive and like you're in it. If that doesn't sound appealing to you, you're probably playing the wrong game. I imagine even after 2.0 comes out there are going to be spontaneous, lore-changing events.
These are events related to the storyline. So it's normal that people want to experience all of them...
Exactly. I have camped the Ul'dah site for several days in a row for about 4 hours at each time and have yet to encounter this. I don't mind the randomness, but the frequency as it is now is just irritating. They don't have to make them less random, just a little more frequent. I spent a few hours camping the spot in Ul'dah the other day to no avail.
They never were random in first Place. They have a Timeframe like the previous Events had, its just surprising that noone figured it yet. Well... noone from the NA-Site.. i just go with the big JP-Groups.. when they appear its going to happen, that is how i got my last one.. so im pretty sure our Japanese friends allready figured it.
For me, all events are good and they don't have to make them more easy.
>> if it's too easy to have it, players will complain about that
When you know that each patch= 1/2/3 events. You need to search for them. You have 2/3 months before the next patch.
I don't want an easy game. If people want reward, they need to work for that.
(Sorry for my very bad english)
I love the fact that there doing these types of events and fights. It adds a bit of excitement every time a new one pops up. But i do have to agree the timing for these things could kicked up a notch or two.
I missed the gm's visiting the camps both times I was able to take part in multiple imperial attacks including the one up in coerthas. At this point i hope to get into one of these cultist fights. but trying to be proactive about getting into one is driving me nuts.
An Aware, Informed, and Critical community is vital for the success of a game.~ John "Totalbiscuit" Bain
Easy game is one that doesn't request any skill, and it doesn't concern with the main thought of my post. Maybe you didn't catch the point but I'm talking about the importance of these events in the main storyline. Here is one other post of Cloudio: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-Era-storyline where a similar topic is raised up.For me, all events are good and they don't have to make them more easy.
