    Alfgar's Event and Imperial Assault - Why did you make them "random" events?

    Hi everyone, I'm just writing to have an answer from SE about this "random" events. All of them are in some way linked to the Storyline, so they are very important, but I couldn't experience all of them just beacause Alfgar wasn't up. WTH!?
    I played continuosly since day-one and just for a fatal reason I hadn't the chance to complete Alfagar's quests or Imperial Assault...
    I'd really like to have the opportunity to experience all of these events again, just as they are a continued storyline. Why do I have to hope Alfgar is up, or anything else?

    A suggestion to the devs for those who aren't logged on enough to experience unique events like this:
    - Change leve history evaluation from giving a generic leve to giving an alfgar-leve? That way we could continue to (use the echo) to experience all the 7th umbral era events so far.

    That's brilliant!

    Having random events in the world is a brilliant idea nevertheless, the problem with the Alfgar is:
    - it only happens at one place or two place in the world!
    - it will happen only for a limited time!

    Random events shown spawn worldwide at several places so every player can experience and have a high chance to stumble on it. And, if these events are giving lore on the story of the 7th umbral era, have an NPC or something that will show us the cutscenes and tell us about what happened.

    The idea of random event is good, but was poorly implemented. More accessibility please.

    It makes perfect sense when you think about the fact the world is constantly changing and heading into the direction of basically apocalypse, so all of this stuff is happening at random because it's real time and not scripted. Much like in FFXI campaigns happened at random intervals with only a few triggers to predict when they'll attack (claiming certain outposts or doing certain Campaign Ops.)

    Problem with this although the idea is interesting for some players this is just luck based event or you have to sit in a city for hours just hoping the event will happen in the city you're waiting in and on top of the be able to beat the 16 player cap to get in which gets filled pretty quick on some servers. As I posted on another thread JP side is also not very happy with how this LIVE event is taking place and they hope the LIVE YoshiP was saying were only these types of events which you have to happen to be at the right place at the right time.

    But in Campaign you could stand in town and monitor enemy movements. So while you had to bounce around a lot, you could instantly go from one place to the next and actively do battles for a majority of the time.

    They don't have to make them less random, just a little more frequent. I spent a few hours camping the spot in Ul'dah the other day to no avail.

    I can understand what you mean, but these are quests related to the main story, content that all people playing would like to experience... The idea of "LIVE" could be as follows: "for 1 month since now Alfgar will stay in Gridania, giving you a task to complete and the he will depop.".
    I'm not happy of how SE implemented these "LIVE" events.

    These events go on for several months at a time, whenever you're in town stop by the normal "alfgar spawning area" and see if he's there, you're bound to run into one eventually. I think these events are a neat surprise whenever I manage to catch them.

    If these things were scheduled though they would get camped/filled up really quickly. Maybe they should just increase the frequency or block people from subsequent participation.

    +1 That would work + the reward from the chest isn't that great either so pretty sure once you finish one you wouldn't want to do it again unless you're helping someone else with the event. The location they warp you from one city is also random right? not sure if it's 2 location or 3 so far just heard 2
