I wouldnt bother but GMs making “assumptions” to determine suspensions or bans should not be tolerated. Thats a serious problem.1) There's no slander involved at all. When a GM bans you from the game for parsing (whether you actually did or not), they do not announce it publicly and they do not in any way attempt to mar the player's reputation. Thus, no slander.
2) SE has complete and utter authority over their licenses. There is nothing illegal at all about them banning a player, regardless of circumstances. In fact, in the ToS, it essentially states they can remove a player's privileges at their discretion.
Now, if you believe you were wrongfully banned, you can appeal to SE's customer service. And if CS doesn't decide in your favor, you could attempt to sue SE for the cost of the game, but that's it. And you would end up paying far more in legal fees than you would ever get back from suing them. But even if you were to win your lawsuit, SE has no obligation to restore your account.
If anything Id take it to gaming media just like the ffxi 18 hour boss fight, that gets responses.
If your in a pug there is a chance it could get reported if in game chat is used. I know of one pc and 3 ps4 users who will report it in a heart beat. For anything related to parses data.
My raid group in 4.x had someone posting number we found a bard in our static didn't have a clue, but brd was my only dps at the time so I gave him pointers his numbers went up by 2k.
I personally think that is useful. But I don't need a parses to keep my up time, and DPS good but others have no clue how well they could be doing.
The answer to how am I doing is "You're doing fine".
OTOH:
Its always bothered me that people dont want to install their own parser but instead want to rely on others to parse for them. If parsing well is important to you then you arent good unless you can parse for yourself.
You can't install a parser if you are playing on a console. The answer to how am I doing is "You're doing fine".

I was sad to see that game never come to pass. Long-time StarGate fan, seemed like the dream MMO...Content designer.
Stargate Worlds - Cheyenne Mountain - Phoenix Arizona
Not "Pretending" kiddo.
(Also not bragging, it was kind of a dumpster fire. All I did was write mission dialogue for the most part. That's why I don't lead off with: "I worked on this terrible MMO that was mismanaged and bankrupted the company."
Still an industry gig is an industry gig.)
It's funny how analysing the game is prohibited, but yet make logs available to be "analysed"Accordingly, the following activities are prohibited:
- Modifying, analysing, integrating, and/or reverse engineering game software or data.
- Creating, distributing, using, or promoting utilities that interact with the game.
- Exploiting Square Enix programming bugs or glitches.
- Automating gameplay processes.
So SE is happy for someone to go through the logs with a pen and paper and work out the dps without the use of any software. Im on ps4 so I cannot use parsers anyway, but it just seems a bit weird. Understand though that it can breed toxicity between players. As long as someone is making an effort and not standing there then I'm usually happy.
It might have been if they didn't change engines on us like 3 times during the dev cycle. Still it was my first (read: only) MMORPG gig. Most of what I did were casual games and charity/social projects (2012 US Olympics BP Ignition program, SumoBoy by TAPRR).
Always wanted to do a full scale MMORPG though. Like not just mission dialogue, but have a shot at the core design. Alas that time is passed.
I'm more laughing at the irony of the fact that parsing is against the ToS when fight encounters are built around DPS checks and enrages. And then you have jobs like AST and DNC that are supposed to buff the highest damage dealers... but how are we supposed to know without a tool that shows us numbers. It's funny how analysing the game is prohibited, but yet make logs available to be "analysed"
