You basically want to have your cake and eat it. You keep yelping "I don't want to play any other game", but then moan about Final Fantasy XIV being Final Fantasy XIV. Nobody is punishing you, you are punishing yourself by limiting yourself to an experience that simply doesn't tick the boxes you want it to.

Obviously not everything with the game is perfect, but no game is perfect and it all comes down to what you're willing to overlook. Clearly this issue is not one you are willing to overlook because you are here, despite being aware the game will not change it's formula to accommodate you, endlessly posting about it. When even the game's Producer/Director says he wants people to take breaks, unsub, play other games, do other things, then well, that's just Final Fantasy XIV.

You are factually wrong. 10 more bosses would be farrrrrr too much. And no one has been asking for one more boss? Have you even been reading this thread? I have literally been asking for at least one more boss if they choose to keep this difficulty. You people overestimate us raiders if you think we would blow through 5 savage bosses in a week. Newsflash sweetie, the average raider aren’t like the world first raiders. You’d realize that if you actually did the content or have been reading what’s being said. Basing your opinions on the minority of our minority is highly unfair when most of us take much longer to consume the content.

Either they need to bring the difficulty back up to keep us busy longer, or add another fight if they insist of keeping the current difficulty. Most of us aren’t asking for much at all. And it just baffles me that people who have no idea how long it take most of us to clear said fights are trying to refuse us what we are asking for based on some stupid assumption. We aren’t asking for much. No one in this thread in favor of more content has been asking for a lot. They could literally give us a one boss more or even a TRUE hard mode dungeon.

The average raider doesn’t blow through content like you’re claiming. Denying us of our request because of false assumptions is an injustice. It’s really not fair. Why do we have to suffer because we have a minority that blows through for the prestige of being #1? Y’all have to plenty of people who blow through your content in a matter of days, yet here y’all are. Constantly getting content regardless, to the point you’re drowning in it. We don’t want a lot.

I can’t help what I enjoy and what I don’t enjoy. I can’t force myself to like something I hate, and it’s absurd to expect us to. If I didn’t love XIV I wouldn’t be here. It’s just this branch of content I enjoy is lacking. It doesn’t even need much to make most of us happy. Trying to make the content better for more shouldn’t be shunned. Especially since we are customers as well. Why shouldn’t the game be improved to make more happy? We aren’t asking to make those world first/no lifers happy. They will never be happy with what is given if they want to be #1 all the time. We are asking to make the average raider happy. Those of us who spend time IRL but still have enough game time to beat the tier and have a drought until the next.

You people get your cake and eat it too. Why can’t we have just a little more than what we get. You guys still get most of the cake.

Careful, they might think you're being unreasonable while they brag about the plethora of content they have to do. Obviously you have to like what they do, and if you don't you need to leave and go back to WoW where you came from! We don't need you here!

They would blow through the 10 additional bosses and then come and ask for more. The reason being is that each boss in this game is very formulaic. Once you figure out the rotation and how the mechanics work all that is left is to just get the ilvl to beat it down which would not take very long. Even for average raiders or just story raiders. Much less for hardcore raiders who would funnel what gear they can to the best players on the static team.

There is no satisfying the rate at which people can consume the content.

Four savage fights last a lot of people for a couple months. So you are saying if that was doubled it wouldn't last double the time? Also, people aren't necessarily asking for ten same-style boss fights. Instead, perhaps another form of challenging battle content? You know, like how FFXIV had like eight forms of them? Maybe just not another Savage or Ultimate trial fight...But hey, even that would be nice.

People are not asking for 10 same style fights, but there would be a lot of mechanical similarities regardless. You also have to take into account that double the fights means double the possible weekly gear which will speed things up considerably just from gearing up from story version to go into savage progression. It becomes an ever moving goalpost because the consumption rate is so quick.

That is blatantly false, though. Maybe if they dumbed down the difficulty even more than they have, but if not this is blatantly false. As it stands right now, the difficulty poses a challenge for the average raider to the point of keeping them busy for a couple months, but then it’s nothing but boredom til a new tier comes out. Most groups have a set schedule based on the available time their IRL allows. They don’t get on every single day, all day, until they beat all of the bosses. That’s just not how any of this works. Again you are only thinking of the minority of the minority.

I have been raiding since creator, and we have never just blown through bosses as fast as we can. Again, most groups do not. Only people I could see doing that are those who pug savages, and even then, you would have to be very VERY lucky in order to clear all bosses quickly. Even if you started progging upon release. I am speaking from experience.

The heart of the matter is, you're bored of the formula.

The people complaining here likely did the same during Stormblood. Precious little has changed to the point where we can accurately predict almost the entirety of the content release schedule right up until 6.0. That is FFXIV.

It's hard to find legitimate arguments other than throwing the toys out of the pram with "you have stuff to do, why can't we have more stuff to do?" or looking down on "casuals" for enjoying the game as it is. The very nature of this debate is trying to change not just what the game is, but what it aspires to be.

We've all been there. I want more this, I'd love more that. Every game ultimately is flawed in some way. Instead of trying to paper over the cracks, FFXIV plays to it's strengths then encourages the player to seek other experiences elsewhere. It's not, contrary to popular belief, a one stop MMORPG shop, and that's fine.

We all want more, but at some point you have to just let Final Fantasy be Final Fantasy. It's not going to change direction. There'll be Savage in a week and by mid-October there'll be a 24 man and Ultimate. Fast forward two years and it'll be a similar story. Yoshi P actively calls on players to take breaks between patches, do other stuff, play other games. It's not by fault, it's by design. That's the formula that holds the game together and, for me, it's predictability is it's strength and has carried it from one success to another.
