2 types of end-game need adding:
Harder versions of the 24-man Alliance Raids:
I feel the current 24-man alliance raids are more of a casual affair you usually join with randomers and still complete it in fair amount of time. I feel alot of players are looking for that "guild feeling" end-game of doing some challenging content with alot of players where communication with everyone is key to success. Having to build up a group/static/FC/LS where it solely focuses on endgame where everyone can do it together would add alot to the current end-game formula.
They could just make savage versions of the current alliance raids. This would keep end-game raiders sticking around alot longer and you won't see any complaints about lack of endgame content then, while not completely locking out players who prefer easier content as they would still have their current alliance raid.
Harder 4-man content:
This is something else I feel is lacking in FF14 there should be 4-man content which requires more of a challenge, some players don't have statics nor like doing content with 8 players maybe they just want to play with just a few friends and not feel forced into bigger groups but still want to try some endgame out.
Palace of the Dead was something which I thought was going to be exactly that but it never turned out what I thought it was going to be, originally I thought it was going to be similar to FFXI's deep dungeon which was "Nyzul Isle" which has the same concept of clearing floors and fighting a boss every 10th but the difference is the quality in FFXI it had far more rooms per floor, different objectives to complete per floor examples like solving puzzles with lamps, killing specific mobs per floor, killing all mobs or killing the mini-boss etc each floor also had chances of having a rare monster appear on which were harder but optional to fight to give more loot, you had to gauge whether you had enough time left to fight them or pass on it if you felt you were going to run out of time. Nyzul Isle also felt more like a labyrinth with alot more RnG making it more replayable and alot more fun. They also then added a harder version called "Neo Nyzul Isle" where you had to complete all 100 floors in the same time as normal which was super hard to achieve.
I believe Palace of the Dead could use a more harder version more aimed for end-game rather than just having the more casual version for levelling. Why not have both? This shouldn't be too hard to implement for the devs.
Current 8-man endgame content:
I feel like 8-man endgame content is in a good spot and doesn't really need changing but it is way too much focused on with having extreme fights and savage fights players looking for alliance raids with the same amount challenge or with low-man there isn't much to do that is a challenging outside of extreme/savage.
These ideas I have suggested here could easily fit into FF14, harder versions of existing content would require less work for the developers as they don't need to come up with completely new ideas and keeping the easier versions for the more casual players also keeps them happy while providing some more variety for end-game raiders who want more of a challenge.
