Wanna chime in and make a correction here.

As of the latest Census that I know of Hrothgar are legit tied with Male Elezen in numbers and more popular than the combined total Roes (as in males and Females). Which is no small feat given that male elezen saw an increase in players at the same time. Also there's around a 8K difference between them and Roebros.

Depending on how Female Hrothgar are designed they can be far more popular than I personally thought they would be (which was "less than Femroe" at first. Femroe aren't popular because of their design and body shape).

All that is kinda beside the point of adding them anyway so it's pretty moot.



In the interview Yoshi talked about new hair styles and faces it seemed pretty clear he knew he was talking about new faces when he commented on that.

As in we got a definite yes to new hair styles and a "Yeah, we'll prob have to do that to. The team is ready" for new faces.

Actually ,thanks for letting me know, I was referring to a previous one. Anyways, we can see that beast races aren't that popular at all (mostly because, like I said, most players, or at least a very good chunk of them, are either into anime, japanese culture or anime asthetics, not into western ones. Hence why on games like WoW, where tis the opposite, beast races are so popular), and male viera would certainly beat male hrotgar numbers, but, that isnt the point, and after all it dosent even really matter. The point is, I speculate that female hrotgar will be extremely unpopular if they do them like they should, imo, beaslike, which wouldnt make them money, but I think that male viera has al the points to become super popualr and give em enough money (theyre the elegant/graceful, handsome and attractive elven styled race that this game lacks, elezen arent really any of that, they like, giraffes with akward anims) so that It wouldnt matter if fem hrotgar are unpopular, and I wouldnt not only mind playing them, but I would love seeing them arround from time to time. Is like, femroe is my favourite race (though I prefer to main a more elegant character).

Oh and dont get me wrong, I hope fem hrotgar would be as popular as fem miqote xD, but I certainly think its extremely unlikely

You are correct here, but there is an issue: July statistic isn't very accurate:

They are the most accurate we have right now. How that holds up over time? Who knows. Wont know til we get more.

Why did I know that whenever male hrotgar numbers were said, and confirmed to be rather low you'd get all aggressive even if I was respectful through all my points and made it clear it was just my opnion? Male hrotgar arent as popular as u headcannon them to be lol, there's 16k of them in the race statistics a guy posted on another thread, and thats even with all the new race hype, meaning therell be even less in 2-3 weeks (many less in 1-2 months probs). Saying male hrotgar arent and wont be popular isnt an attack on u or the race its just a fact, just like it is that female viera wont ever be as popular as uwu waifu catgirl or that male viera will likely also be at 2nd-3rd spot on the racial statistics

I've been in these forums long enough, I know what will happen if I indulge your strange vendetta with a race that's every so thinly veiled.
I'd prob say something about how it's frankly silly to think SE makes new races just to profit off of a $10 potion when the real reason would be for the overall health of the game (through making a deserve line up of races to appeal to/ draw in the people from their competition in the MMO space. Logically getting a new player whose gonna stick around and is already use to MMOs is more attractive to them and from everything they say it seems like the case). Or how if they really just want to push potions they would, IDK, just make a 3rd clan to some of the popular races and give them new faces and better textures which would be like less than a fraction of the work of a new race with many times the profit.

Could point out how the very concept of a bunny ear person is so culturally connected to females from all sides that I doubt the popularity of the females means anything for the Males.

Can also point out how it's beyond hopeful to expect any new anything in 6.0 when they are still not done with the races they just added to the game. Viera still need to get w/e number of common hairs they will be allowed to have and Hrothgar still need their unique hairs and new faces. Neither of them got a unique hempen outfit and they will prob never have hats and helms. To be frank I don't think they will ever add the other genders and leave this game like their other MMO.

But we've been through all that before so it's all moot.

I honestly dont understand your obsession with defendign male hrotgar and tryign to say that male viera wont be popular. Aren't the most popular races in WoW the pretty ones though? I think it's kind of universal for people to prefer the pretty races or humans, especially over beast races.

They'd see a lot of Fantasia revenue if they updated the customisation system for the older races which, at this point, are starting to look a little dated next to the newer models and environments.

It depends it would be short term gains. Maybe enough to justify investment. I think the game in general needs a bit of an update, particularly where textures are concerned.

Hrothgar will probably even out at a decent (not high) number. Probably about as much as SE would have predicted.

Such a comment being so highly upvoted has worrying implications for the attitude of many male viera supporters!

It's unfortunate that we didn't get male viera, though we still might see them in the future. Hrothgar may not be to everybody's personal tastes but they add something legitimately new to the game's roster. Plus cats are awesome in general and a lot of people are happy with them.

It's very troubling for people in this thread to treat Hrothgar with such disdain, especially when they lash out whenever people come in and do the same thing towards male viera. It's such a shame you can't see who upvoted a particular post.

I am personally very neutral on them. I don't really like how limited they are, and I think SE maybe took on more than they could handle with them in a short period. I have started to come to the agreement that the new races were rushed and should have come out at a later date (not necessarily for the reason of missing genders), so they could come out 'complete'.

Male hrotgar are extremely limited and they made the second worst design choice (only after genderlocked races) with them not being able to choose hair. Plus the only thing they have to refit for female viera is headgear, and for some reason they didnt even do it

I think they didn't do it because they would also have to fit everything to Hrothgar (double the work). They probably will release updates to these races coupled together. Even then they have resigned themselves to limited updates, "some" new hairstyles, new faces. Rather, properly fitting headgear to viera isn't an "Easy" job either.

Personally, I agree that I want male viera, but I disagree that male hrotgar suck. Personally ,I think they're a decent addition and I'm glad their here, I just hate the way they were handled and would have personally rather waited until 6.0/7.0 to see them (or otherwise, hrotgar full race 5.0, viera full race 6.0/7.0) and get a full race now

I don't know about this line of thinking. I think viera probably have their own set of problems with development.
