O.o the Male Viera guy is back
Would have been far better if they had released just female and male Viera. I was looking forward to male Viera so much, I don't understand after all this progress that the same mistake was made of going back to a gender-locked species. Could have saved female and male Hrothgar for a later release. I may have overlooked it but I never saw the same demand for Hrothgar as I did for Viera.

Not like they said we'd get male Viera in the 1st place, Plus we have yet to actually see them in any FF game, (Im not saying they don't exist, so stop it right there) in lore they barley if ever leave the Forrest, and they live separately from the Females. So getting Male Viera was already a pipe dream from the start. Its the One FF race (that I know of) that would work with Female only.Would have been far better if they had released just female and male Viera. Plus they (or Yoshi Specifically) said this might be their last chance to develop a race. So they wanted to fill both demands for the Viera and a Beast Race. Ultimitly adding in a beast race to give a more diverse option.
WILL we ever get the other Genders? Maybe, remember its not off the Table, but no promises are being made.
Viera were never the planned race to begin with. Hrothgar was the one they were originally planning but to keep the playerbase 'happy' they decided to make both. Personally I'd have rather they just given us Hrothgar fully this expansion then look into viera down the line if they wanted to add them so badly. For now, I'd rather they not waste resources making the opposite genders of the current ones since there are a lot of fixes that currently need to be done with the ones we have (i.e hoods, full armors, etc.)Would have been far better if they had released just female and male Viera. If they are planning them? Fine let em, but as it stands their time and money can be better served elsewhere.
Its interesting because as far as I can remember Viera was already discussed before HW then they decided to introduce us to Au Ra. They also have said different things in different interviews. One is putting Hrothgar first, another sounds like they had Viera planned due to popluar demand and then noticed that people like the Lupin and decided to add male Hrothgar..Viera were never the planned race to begin with. Anyway I would have been happy with either of them if we would have gotten a whole race..and maybe have the race be complete and not at the limited state its right now..especially the Hrothgars with their faces and manes being stuck together.

Agreed the current races are so unfinished, I would rather them sort those out before they add bunny men and lion women as if they did they would just be as limited as their counterparts. I dislike genderlocks especially when it falls into tired over used tropes but lets sort out the viera and hrothgar first.Viera were never the planned race to begin with. Personally, I think that they arent going to ever fix female viera or upgrade male hrotgar, and after seeing how hats look on em, Im not even sure if I wanna see ppl wearing them lol. I think that SE messed up waaaay beyodn repair on this and imo, for whats worth, they should just do the missing genders without hats or legacy hairstyles like female viera and male hrotgar forget about it and at least be able to market the new races again. I think missing genders are more likely to make players excited and draw in more players than race upgrades that sadly are unlikely to fix the many problems with the new races. I agree that Id prefer full Hrotgar, since we have no beast race (acually, I'd rather get another beast race than hrotgar, dotn want too many cats but still happy theyre implemented tho) since we had no beast race but as much as I like the viera race theyre hyur with bunny earsViera were never the planned race to begin with. No, they couldn't. The uncertainty of not knowing if they could add another race at all is what made them chose half and half. Would you have preferred they slap bunny ears on Hroths and call them the official male Viera instead? I highly doubt so.Would have been far better if they had released just female and male Viera. I agree with you. It would have made more sense to release Viera this expansion due to how heavily they are tied to the Greatwood and serving a role close to that of 12. For Hrothgar you could replace each one in the game with a Roegadyn with no problem, except maybe the Gunbreaker instructor. Otherwise, the characters that are Hrothgar in the game now could be replaced with aother race with no consequence or change. It would have made more sense to release them in the potential future Garlemald expansion.
