Usually when people (mostly Rpers) click on a character they check the search info for more information, out of curiosity or otherwise. It is very wise to put an indicator that your toon is male in there to avoid situations like this; it's just common sense. To not do that would be a HUGE oversight, and they have no right to blow up at someone over it, as nobody is a mind reader.

I put male in the search info, and I have never had an instance of anyone misgendering my toon.
