Miqo'te males fill a completely different niche than hrothgar males. I don't think it (for the most part) is for the people who want to play a beast race.Pretty much what I was gonna say on the matter. I don't speak with any Roebros as they're clearly their own thing but before I heard news of their take on this I saw mostly Cat Boys excited that they can now become Cat MEN because ... shockingly when you have only 1 "furry" race people who want a full on mammal-human anthro race just feel like they have to settle for what they can get. Same with Scale Bros, saw a number of them who are excited about converting to a beast race and seem to have played their current race cause it's the most beastly option.
Later I found out that many Roebros want to convert. Makes sense, they like the big beefy boy look and the Hrothgar are a much better take on that.
And on top of all of that it's the fact that this game is the biggest it's ever been ... prob in no small part due to w/e number of people from the other 2 biggest MMOs coming over. As of right now there's really no good option for someone who plays a beast looking race in those games in this one so they would have had to settle on some other race til Hrothgar go live.
As for Viera, that's another story. The males of this game have a fairly decent spread. Sure, Roebros are the least played male ... but they're only 5k below Elezen and for every 4 cat boys there's 1 Roebro. But the 2 least played anythings in this game are Female Elezen and Femroe. There's like 1 Femroe for every 17-20 cat girls IIRC. Seems many expected the Viera to be Cat girls with bunny features seeing how many "They're too tall!/ Where's their bunny tail?" I've seen. I feel like Viera will be more popular than Elezen females because like half of them are gonna convert to what's basically better looking Elezen 2.0 but IDK past that.

I think buckteeth would look too goofy for me personally. Aside from their long ears, I think aesthetically the chest fur would do a better job establishing that the race is based off rabbits. I'm not a big fan of the chest fur but the more I think about it, the more I think I could get used to it. If male viera are implemented, I do not think they will give us a variety of chest fur patterns to choose from (or to remove completely). What else would they cut off from the character creation to make room for chest fur patterns? Accessories? Muscle slider? I definitely don't think so. Although I wouldn't mind accessories being replaced for full body tattoos.
I'm still sort of hoping for Jackal like horns. I know it's extremely doubtful but I would love it if they had them mixed with their ears. Hm, can Viera even wear horns? Especially since they're headpieces? I'm wondering if the PVP horns would actually fit on their heads well enough to not go through their ears.
I think buck teeth would be rather silly on them. There's no reason for them to have buck teeth unless they're eating vegetation by gnawing on them directly. I see them as being full on carnivores due to their connection to the wood and their lack of wanting to damage it - this includes cutting down vegetation for food and not killing an entire plant for herbal medicines. I actually hope they're like Moon Keepers and the males have visible fangs.
In regards to femininity - I'll state this here as well. Femininity in males is the expression that they're showing traits of a very beautiful woman. A feminine man goes beyond the average 'femininity' of an everyday average female. It's not exactly a great look because you're forcing them to look liike women who are already on the pedestal of 'femininity' - this is already the case with the female Viera. This is where the argument of 'if you want a feminine male' then you're better off just playing a female who has masculine traits as you're more likely to accept the whole 'small chest' and slightly high pitched voice, compared to a let's say someone who just wishes to play as a 'male', not one with over the top femininity - just a bog standard male. If the race is near impossible to make 'men with masculine traits' and is more 'men with feminine traits' then it's just a niche gender.
Keep in mind that there are certain traits that should honestly be removed from the whole 'femininity' viewpoint.
- Long eyelashes
- A softer jawline
- Long hair.
If you wish a male to look like a female that doesn't have a bust - then it comes back to the whole argument again on why a whole gender should pander to it? Do not use them for validation of real-life scenarios. And those who are thinking of world life scenarios - remember that it's a lot easier for a male to look like a beautiful female than it is for a female to look like a handsome man or androgynous. Androgynous males, however, are seen as extremely 'beautiful' and are more linked to femininity than masculinity.

I agree besides your final point. I do not believe long hair is an inherently feminine trait. I think it would be interesting if M.Viera had longer hairstyles and facial hair features that accentuated their masculinity.I'm still sort of hoping for Jackal like horns. You'd be surprised how many folks who still think that long hair is feminine - when in fact I find long hair in males to be very masculine than most. There's always been one person echoing the whole 'cut your hair, you look like a girl'. Or mothers who end up cutting their little boys' long ringlets because they look too feminine. In fact, it's very popular in childhood where parents will cut their little boys hair, but grow out their little girl's hair.
Long hair isn't inherently feminine. Femininity, in my opinion, is a combination of traits. In an in-game race's sense, it would be a combination of things like, emotes, animations, facial features, jawline, etc. Long hair can be very manly, and wild, and I think it would fit a male viera whether they were masculine OR feminine.
It depends on the guy's base features as to whether or not I like it. It's the same with facial hair - some guys suit it very well, others don't.
Speaking of, I'm still hoping for the stubble in the benchmark as an option in-game.
My bet is that male viera will get long hair, super strong jawlines, longer eyelashes, thou I doubt they get the horns sadly. I had this idea that they could maybe give them the option to get the crystal that female viera can use, and allow u to change it's color, fur patches althouhg im not sure, I just hope u can remove them, and maybe muscle sliderI'm still sort of hoping for Jackal like horns.
