I like it! Given how they're described as acting and the sort of lifestyle they lead I can envision them as looking like that. It's pretty close to the beefier concept art too - especially if there's a few sliders to play around with as a compromise.

A loincloth? Heck yes! Maybe some conan-esque racial gear or a custom hempen set! I'm thinking that as a warrior, or something it would be super cool. It would even be amazing for a sneaky assassin or a bard! Tough and manly, with the ability to also be agile and quick! To be honest, I would be tempted to play a male viera if they looked like that. Sorry, when they look like that.

Does it count that I am japanese, but not spoken it since I was 14? =P But that is the exact thing I've been trying Viera males to look like. Cut, pure raw strength. My Grandpa was the same way, muscles like wires even before he passed away. He looked small, but when his muscles moved, was weird and scary to look at when younger, but later learned anatomy and was like, Oooooo...
Just putting this out there:
Female viera height is 178cm-191.4cm / 5'8"-6'2"
Toru Rikiishi is 5'11" and 53kg / 116-117 lbs
Toru Rikiishi was 5'11? Did I make a mistake? Gonna correct that.Actually he went from 66kg to 53kg before the rematch. He was at least 5'11 so the strain on his body was great combined with intense weight-loss training and a fight with a powerful foe(Joe).
He actually died shortly after the match. If he was shorter like Joe(5'4), he would have had less trouble pulling off that weight and still retain muscle mass. This is common boxing mentality.

You do realise that even with that body type, which most folks were fine with - he also described it as being 'muscular' and 'zero body fat' - this is why the image that was drawn and accepted by Matsumi is in no better words 'ripped'. I want toned muscles. I do not want a bodybuilder. Most boxers in the lightweight category are not massive, but they are extremely toned. They have to be because the strength of their punches comes from their muscles.
This is also why the image is drawn isn't a full-on match of Toru Rikiishi which was linked beforehand - which if you google by the way - has a very muscular/ripped body type - but isn't massive.

This is actually more likely to what he was referencing, not that image that was linked to look very 'skinny' with zero muscle development. Misleading as heck.

Yeah, that's why I said, 'want'... what are you getting at?
Also, you should go watch the live action movie of 'Tomorrow Joe' which actually is a better reference than the image you posted. He's not bulky, but he is 'ripped' in term of muscle development.
As for height, I wouldn't base height on the character that much. Toru Rikiishi is like what, 5'8-11 - that's maxed male midlander height - which is minimum Viera female height. It's not enough to go on, it could go so many ways.

No this is the match. Rikiishi needed to lighten his weight to be able to compete with Joe.This is also why the image is drawn isn't a full-on match of Toru Rikiishi which was linked beforehand - which if you google by the way - has a very muscular/ripped body type - but isn't massive.

And that video isn't a good reference. I am certain that a manga artist would better project his image of a character when he actually has full control.
Live action is less...controllable.
