How about if you get hit with it, you make a note of what hit you, when, and what it was called? Like, look at the castbar... "Ah shit, Larboard? What's that?" you get hit by standing left. "oh, it hits on the left side of the boss, since my buddies on the right side are okay, Guess I have to stand to the right of the boss when he does Larboard, neat". Problem solved. That's what blind progging is. How do you think people MAKE guides? They get hit with things they have no idea what they are, make a note of what they do, read debuffs, and make a note to change things until the sequence is done right. That's how learning happens. So if someone still doesn't know a mechanic and what it does theoretically after like, four times... I gotta question their ability to reason.
Some people have more difficulty staying on top of that and knowing whether to left/right than others. You can blame it on their "ability to reason" or spatial awareness or whatever you like.

But all that wasn't my point anyway. All I was saying is that the ground telegraph is pretty much useless when it's only there for a fraction of a second.
