Sorry to say, but I see no reference of that word being used to describe 'entitled whiners' while everything I have seen of it describes it as an 'intentional misspelling of the word 'casuals'. So in effect it's still the same word.I'm pretty sure I specifically said "Casuls"
That's not a spelling mistake. That's the term for the entitled whiners.
You're the one who was generalizing a whole group of players by taking reference to "Casuls" (Also, specifically, people who whine about how hard their life is. Which is not done by most players) to mean all people under the term "Casual players"
Which is ironic, since, I myself am a casual player. I even have a huge backlog of games I want to play, but don't get the time to because real life is a thing.

If we extend this analogy perhaps you can see the issue? What we have here is people saying they want the easy 90% of the game to be like the hard 10% of the game but at the same time they don't actually play the hard 10% or seem to have any interest in the hard 10%. Instead they say for some reason the hard 10% doesn't really count and that they will only enjoy the game when the easy 90% they actually play is made hard.thats a fallacy you actually pointed out yourself.
How is game good designed if you need to go out of your way to find challenge? Imagine playing a jrpg were you snoozing through 90% of the game and only the super bosses are in the vicinity of being a threat
Masterfull game design
its also a strawman, the thread doesnt say there is no challenging content in the game. Thats not the same thing as the base game feeling to easy.
a reasonable point, but, atleast imo, we are having a discussion where this sweetspot of catering at the bottom end lies, yes?You mean every Final fantasy game I II and XI being the exception?
Challenge is subjective what i find easy someone else might find hard. Take Dark souls for example, a Friend of mine struggles each time on Abyss Watchers but can easily beat Aldritch while i'm the opposite. There are plenty of instances in rthis game where i struggle, like whenever fighting a Chimera type enemy, despite playing since ARR's Beta i have never been able to deal with those enemies gracefully, i always mess up, but there are plenty of bosses i can do flawlessly while the rest of my group flounders.
When you make a game like this you have to cater for everyones skill level and lets face it the vast majority of people don't have hotbars scattered all over their screen with hundreds of macros, i've been playing MMO's since 2004 and i still can't understand macros. Steps of Faith was a massive wall for people back in the day imagine if every dungeon was like that.
Most people would probally disagree that all of XIV Normal modes should be nerfed because my grandma with 15 APM on a keyboard cant complete the MSQ, me included. The discussion here is not that people have diffrent perspectives on difficulty but rather what is the right one. The OP take was that it was too low.
Saying "broo do savage!" (not you) is not helpful nor on topic
If you are intressted on my take:
I think if you introduce mechanics, lets take a simple one, aoe cones, but you are actually not really punished enough for doing it correctly, it's on a path where i think the base level of the game is to forgiving. Its like using the wrong type of pokemon but not getting punished enough and everything becomes dull.
To the OP have you tried Omni Crafting end game stuff. That should hold you for a while.
I too have played the "hard way", been playing ffxi since 2005, and still do today.
I like ffxiv just the way it is. It has flaws, all games do but I wouldnt still be here if I didnt like it!
Real life stresses are truly my challenge, games on the other hand, are my fun, my r&r, nothing to prove here as I have already done so irl where it counts imo.
I understand if others do not share my stance on things, its cool, everyone do what you gotta do to be happy.

♥ MORE HIGH HEELS + INSTANCED HOUSING! ♥!
Every mob must be dark souls caliber. You lose your gear when you die. And when you die you lose a full level and the xp required to level goes up by 50%
There I think I made it hardcore enough.

thats like your 4th strawman in the thread without actually responding. 95% of the thread is either ad hominems or strawmans, so im out
atleast thx at @Skyclaw726 and @Kalise for being ontopic
Wasn't a strawman. I made the game more hardcore. Yoshi-P would be crazy not to do that to appease the mass people who are making petitions, and making threads to have a challenging game.
