Yeah, so unreasonable to dislike that 3/4 jobs in the role share the same, vapid mechanic, what are people thinking amirite.
Also WAR/PLD AoE has always been super boring. Not as much of an issue when it's just dungeon trash though, because people who care for engaging gameplay generally don't give a crap about dungeons.
Yeah, because IR is so known for being used for it's utility, rather than on cooldown for burst dps, especially considering you can just cancel knockbacks with Onslaught.
If all you do on jobs without IR-esque bursts is spam 123, then you might wanna hit up some job guides.
That's what we get for saying that transition tank mechanic in Susano was cool - they listened and made it into a role identity.

Yeah, and many people asked for more expansive AoE rotations.
Hence now in ShB we're getting AoE combo's, so we don't just spam one button over and over for AoE.
Many people also dislike the simplifying of combo's down to predominantly just pressing 123 over and over with 2 Tank jobs occasionally pressing a different finisher every couple of rotations for DoT/Buff upkeep...
More rotational variety is wanted alongside having more interesting "Burst" phases.
So we're not just pressing 123 44444 123123123123123 for ever and all eternity during a fight.
Yeah. I liked what IR presented at the time, but it's just bad design for all of the tanks to have it. I weep for GNB in 6.0 when they get the same treatment.Yes PLEASE rise up against braindead spam windows. Cant believe so many warriors were okay with giving up beautiful berserk for this 1 button spam which also is 40% of their damage now(putting 40% of job's damage in goddamn 10sec window, yikes), and now because of overwhelming positive feedback they gave same treatment to drk. Obviously jobs aren't ruined, but its just sad. I'm not mad, i'm disappointed.
Id say it was less 'overwhelming positive feedback' and more how much other jobs moaned and whined how unfair it us that war gets to burst so hard and how op it is. Welp. Wish granted. You missed the sarcasm. It was NOT because of positive feedback which would be people wanting to have a warrior skill. It was because of negative feedback complaining about a drks lack of burst and it was always conpared to req and IR as drk had nothing to compete with that.h As kalise pointed out. Drks had little burst and often pointed that out. Well, now you get burst. SE screwed it up by giving it with a lack of imagination

While some WARs really hated the change, sadly a lot of people who didn't understand how to play 4.1 WAR well, complained about it being "clunky" and rejoiced after 4.2 hit, because then they could just get tons of dps at low effort. There's also WARs who only started playing the job post-change and enjoy it. Most importantly, the WAR raid participation numbers went up, which gave SE clear sign that "everything is great now"(although the numbers already started going up with 4.1, after some small tweaks and Shake it Off revamp, but there wasn't a new tier to measure it). Clearly WAR is an enjoyable job to many(as much as I personally hate the current iteration), the main issue is we don't need more than one.
That said, there's also been a lot of misguided feedbackand nonconstructive whiningfrom some DRK players, who felt that we need something akin to either IR of FoF(ZzZz), especially people who didn't even realize they should pool their MP and Blood to make their burst, instead of just hitting DA/BS whenever they got enough resources for it...
