This is really the best solution thusfar.

The issue with the MSQ roulette though is the fact that the fights themselves are either skipped or pulled enmasse. Every new player that I see go in there dies at least 2-3 times. And then are left behind to run to catch up, some don't even catch up before the dungeon is done. Thus defeating the purpose of restricting cutscene skipping. And this problem is caused by the fact the item level sync is tuned way too high. If this was changed to something in the ballpark of 50-60, then we wouldn't see these mass pulls. The fights would be no harder than Auram Vale or Dzemael Darkhold.

When these dungeons were current, our item level was 45-50. We were in our job AF gear and Grand Company weapon. The dungeons were challenging, but nothing too hard for the majority of us. New players coming to FFXIV are better prepared and can handle that content (I mean they'll see Nidhogg and Shinryu after anyway). And unable to actually skip through droves of NPCs, we'll be able to slow it down so that these players won't be left behind, in fact we'll want them to be with us for the extra damage, healing, or tanking they'll be doing.

The duty still requires 2 tanks. Lets make use of them again.
