Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

I was inspired by those drawing art to have a go at it myself. It's not the best, I know, but I think it gives a good idea as to what male viera could look like:



I think they should be tall, well-built and with the option to have claws on their hands and feet. A nice square jaw would be the icing on the cake!

I see what you were going for. I am kind of getting a superman feel from it, strong jawline, well built, overall manly features. Well done!

I was thinking they'd have a hybrid between regular feet and animal feet. Just strong claw like toes to cling to branches and walk through the forest more easily when stalking intruders.

Uh... kids having 6 packs is not common. However, slim guys are a common thing.

Then ask for expanded character customization for 6.0 for shorter necks? Hijacking an entire race for it is wrong.

Yoshi P described male viera as handsome, slim, and elegant. Gon from blade and soul is none of those things. You're the one hijacking the race here.

Yoshida also said that "... if it is a customization option that significantly changes the shape of the races body I think we would be better off to tackle the challenge of just introducing a new playable race altogether instead."

Was there anything to the columns in the datamines? I heard that they were an indication of more character model slots being allocated? or was that incorrect.

I think it's future proofing just in case new races are ever added in the future. These slots are in relation to your character and their position on their mount.

It doesn't matter how Yoshi P describes them lol. The adjectives he used are very broad, specially considering the lost in translation problems between Japanese and English. We already know when he said Male Hrothgar would have a wolf head that was lost in translation.

Sephiroth and this are very different. Sephiroth is just an Elezen with a shorter neck.


As for Viera and Elezen, no, they're ultimately different.

Eleze
-Broad shoulders
-Long skeleton. Not just their height, but their body proportions are enlogated. This doesn't happen with Viera.
-Tiny head
-Long neck
-Long skinny legs

Viera is the opposite of all that; meaty legs, normal skeleton/proportions while still being tall, regular sized head, and definitely doesn't carry that northern face. What do I mean by norther face? This


That's the exact kind of face Sephiroth and by extension male Elezen carry. That's not in any way comparable to the more exotic jungle look Viera carry.
My point is, you guys just want Viera to be Eleze 2.0: Elezen done right

They didn't do that with female Viera and they shouldn't do it for male Viera.

Also, I do think he's hijacking the race, and also this thread. This thread was meant as a support thread first and foremost. Part of showing your support in a positive way can be to post your art of male viera. Having my artwork shut down like this goes against what this thread was made for.

To badger, pester, bother, and annoy. A polite suggestion starts to become harassment when the person asks you to stop, and you continue to pester them about it. You said you were not going to stop trying to get me to change my OP, even though I have asked you before to stop doing this. True to your word, you have continued to do this. It is harassment at this point.

What would be cool however, would be to add stuff like some of my art, and some of the other poster's art on how they envision male viera, and add those to the OP.

A polite suggestion is not equal to harassment. We already know that viera will not be designed to resemble children. You're free to leave the images there. Equally, though, posters are free to offer suggestions. You do not need to take them on board.
