Do you really think earlier leveling content was lynchpinned by having energy drain and a second dot?Thing is, if you look at the changes, it's affecting more than just Shadow Bringers content. Three expansions worth of content that's going to be absolutely brain-dead because of the changes. Do you really think they're going to spend any resources going back to any ARR-SB1 instances or dungeons or trials or raids and retool *that* to be more healing intensive? If they do... They should have spent that time and effort on a new healer.

No but it was made a heck of a lot faster to run through.
The only reason healers DPS as much as we do currently is the way the game is designed. If they design it to be any harder casual players won't be able to heal it (AV, Vault, Bardam's, steps of faith, Shinryu)Sure, just like they did for Stormblood. Oh, wait...
More likely explanation: They overhauled the healers because Yoshida thinks healers should never DPS, ever, and/or they have no actual clue how healers are played in their own game. In a game where people can currently solo-heal UCoB and UWU, where almost all healing can be handled with oGCD heals, where WHM is out-of-meta solely because all the extra healing it brings to the table is not necessary when compared to SCH's and AST's damage buffs, what designer in their right mind would think the solution is to give the healers still more healing abilities?
I miss Heavensward healing. You had to stance dance to do damage. This really helped alleviate the boredom of being able to heal everything (On WHM) with only medica 2 and OGCD skills![]()
