I don't know if the devs simply don't know what WHM is, don't care, or are genuinely incompetent where WHM is concerned

All three, at the same time.

In 4.0, and now again in 5.0, WHM changes could basically summarized as 'not what WHM mains wanted or needed.' I'm starting to think if we start begging for the opposite of what we want, we'll manage to shake things up...
