Also, when used appropriately (i.e. at half TP), Goad and Tactician make a tonne of difference to AoE pulls, as does Spire. If your issue is that Spire still isn't effective enough for your personal taste, surely the solution is to buff it, not to remove it entirely.

    2. Duration Bole is useful in boss fights generally, not just for tank busters. Potency Bole is ideally deployed, not for tank busters, but for large pulls, since it gives you more leeway to throw out a few Gravity casts after Lightspeed. I've done a few min-IL runs that simply wouldn't've been possible without a potency-buffed Bole. I still get a rush of excitement when Bole shows up on my draw, even if I end up burning it or Crowning it.

    3. I've never held onto a Ewer "just in case" personally, but there have been tonnes of times--especially in the recent Ivalice raids--where my cohealer simply hasn't healed at all, and I've relied on Lightspeed, Lucid, and been struggling for mana regardless. I have two friends who main BLM whose staggered Mana Shifts have helped, but I've absolutely been praying for a Ewer card over a Balance because it'd've been more situationally useful at that time. Balance is useless when everyone is too (almost-) dead to make use of it.

    4. My favourite class to throw an Arrow on is MNK. Greased Lightning who?

A more general comment - just because the buffs aren't game-changing doesn't mean they're not useful. I've always felt the difference when I use my cards, or when I have a card used on me.

As a monk main I have to ask.. WHY ARROW??? I can count only ONCE where I was happy for arrow.... and that one time I was messing with my opener. The only cards I wanted or needed as a monk was ofcourse... The Balance, sometimes Spire... and that's sometimes. But not anymore since no more TP and spear. Out of those only the damage up ones I wanted. why do astros give monks ARROW? I can see nin, but monk? Really? I feel like thats a troll or punishment.

Because I got given the Arrow while playing MNK and thought it was fun. Funnily enough, getting the arrow as NIN was pretty frustrating, since I kept clipping my GCDs and mudra.

Different honey buns I guess. I hated it cause I'd clip my OGCDs and I'd run out of TP faster which makes monk useless when you can't attack cause your weapon skills are eatting more TP then normal cause you've been sped up. I didn't think it was fun, I'm shocked you did... learn something new everyday. Thanks for that bit of feedback.

I... don't think I've ever had a TP issue with MNK that I haven't had with any other DPS. Generally things die before TP ever becomes an issue, and Invigorate is a pretty good backup if a fight is stretching on for too long; TP has only really been an issue with AoEs when the other DPS isn't using Goad/Tactician. Most MNKs I've met in dungeons are pretty chill with an Arrow, especially sub-60. I know I do dungeon runs with other MNKs who enjoy it, and I myself like getting a well-timed Arrow during my RoF phase, or after I use a TK to make up for losing a stack of Greased Lightning.

Then again, I don't really take MNK into Savage content, either; I prefer SAM for that, if I'm going to play DPS. I keep my non-AST/PLD/SAM classes to the regular dungeons, 24-man raids, and Ex primals because there's less focus on optimisation and I can take it easy.

I wish I had your exp. Every dungeon I go in as monk I'm out of TP, mainly cause I aoe and I'm either paired with range/mage so no goad... OR my fav. I got another monk or sam who refuses to use goad. So I'm dead in in the TP water cause I'm the only one aoeing while I see a full TP bar on the other monk or sam sitting there doing single target. And I'm just like " Seriously.... now I can't attack cause you're being lazy and bad T.T " And then I get hit with the arrow card and I want to die lol.

I had a teamate Ninja who really loved Arrow and did very well with it.

It wouldn't surprise me. I couldn't make use of it without clipping myself, but I'm sure a better NIN player than me could; I just base my card decisions off my own experience with receiving them unless I'm told otherwise.

Better or not, could you imagine a ninja with coupling Bunshin with Arrow?

Now I see their problem with AST: if they'd kept the previous cards, there would have been new synergies that would have formed. I guess being able to deploy Cleric stance on everyone was the only way they could think of that would prevent us from helping anyone in a cool and meaningful way, when they wanted only Dancer to have synergies.

I don't think they did it on purpose. But I DO blame DNC partly for the change. The big blame is them taking away things like TP. Changing the system that much on the back end threw Astro out the window. Astro was bunked the moment SE choose to buff defense, mana and kill TP.
