If the first comes... it will explode into an excitement driven hype party i think that will then become a "Show us your Man Bun" ... That will be a great day.
Aren't there lore reasons as to why they're not there?
I know that some people love to say that '' they exist, so they should be playable ''.
But as far as I understand having male Viera's running around all over the place would be pretty lore breaking?
I dunno tho, I actually like the Viera being female only.
I always liked how the Night Elves were primarily a Matriarchal race and mostly women in Warcraft ( the men were basically asleep, and in WoW there was a lot of retconning for the sake of having male Nelfs be playable ).
It was always disappointing to me how they chickened out on that, and it made them less interesting to me.
I know that some people don't like race or gender locked stuff in games, but to me it can add a lot of flavor and make them feel more unique.
I don't see a problem with a race in a game that is basically only playable as one gender due to cultural lore reasons.
It's the same in games like Vindictus for instance or other Korean games, a lot of people complain about not being able to pick gender but totally miss how in Vindictus for instance you're actually picking between already established characters and not '' classes '', and I kinda like that.
I think that's how it was in Devilian too, you moreso picked between people than classes.
I don't think that we always have to have a choice presented to us, it can potentially just = sacrificing the artistic integrity of whatever.
Sometimes we shouldn't get what we want imo.
I mean it's sorta like as if an Amazonian race was added and people began complaining that there were no male Amazons.
I think that it'd be very disappointing if the devs then went ahead and added them and it would detract a lot from the Amazons as an entity in the setting.
And it'd be the same with Male Viera because of the lore, having them run around all over the place would just detract from the lore and I think that they should strive towards respecting the established lore and not sacrifice it on an altar just because some people want it.
Just because they exist doesn't mean that it makes sense to have a billion players run around playing as them.

Not this lore argument again, how many times do we have to debunk that lore is never a valid reason/argument, especially not in this game

Why not?
The lore is honestly not my main concern tho.
I just personally think that it's fine to have races that are so drastically different in this way and that it adds some flavor to the setting and makes them feel different.
And I also have a soft spot for the whole '' woman only Amazonian people '' thing, so I am biased against male Viera's lol.
I am just getting Night Elf flashbacks, I was really disappointed with how Blizzard handled them.
To be fair, I am not very well-versed in FF lore.
I never played any of the RPG games, only the MMO.
I just read about them on the wiki and forums lol.
In the end of the day I don't actually care in the sense that I'd be upset about them being added.
I'd just kinda feel slightly disappointed because it'd feel like they're just more of the same as the rest in a way.
I feel as if making them gender-specific adds some flavor and uniqueness to them and sorta sells that '' Amazonian '' fantasy to me.

1. The lore is owned by the game team, they can rewrite it in whatever they want, regardless of what previous games said about Viera. This is FFXIV, not FFXII
2. Male Miqo'te were supposed to be rare as well, yet I see more furrballs running around than anything else.
3. Personal bias is never an argument. Nobody likes the "I don't like this, so nobody should have it" discussions. You don't like it, good, then dont play it but let others enjoy it
