Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

I just posted my vision of male viera to show my support. I personally like my design and would fantasia if they looked like that. I don't think it's child-like at all. It's just my style. and how is a 6-pack child-like, anyway? loool granted, only one of them is toned, but I would personally go for a less toned look.

Just because this character isn't big, bulky, buff, or "classically handsome" doesn't mean it's child-like. Not all men are those things. There are some thin men out there, too. I don't consider myself child like and I'm pretty thin.

Its a bit sad that your art is seen as something childlike even though its just your adult version of them. I mean this is how adults in a lot of bishonen manga are often drawn but seemingly those are children too? And since they are similar to Au Ra women in built (as in being slender) then i guess I am a child too?

Everyone can like what they want, so lets just not try to put down another view just because they are not your beauty standard.

Yoshi-P has already stated that viera men will not be child-like. It's as if certain posters are trying to see how close they can get to that without crossing the line. There's too much of a contrast between the women and the men. The art itself is nicely drawn, so there's clearly talent behind it. I just strongly disagree with the proposed direction.

It isn't a case of a dichotomy between that or being big and bulky. There are plenty of builds and looks in between. I do think it's well drawn, and wouldn't describe it as child-like, however it does look a lot less mature than the females.

Hmm... Maybe I should draw a male and female viera next to each other in my style. I think having them side by side in my style would make more sense for people seeing it I guess. idk Maybe I'll do that when I'm feeling less lazy.

Despite the negativity, I was inspired to do my own concept artwork, with different representations displayed.

The left is the baseline viera, middle is him in his racial armor (pauldrons, gauntlets, greaves, also the potd hair for fun prince charming kind of) with a kind of blue steel and red highlighted look, and the third is him with spiky hair (yu-gi-oh! guy for inspiration) and some chest fluff.



Now these are just rough sketches so don't be too harsh. It's concept art, so I didn't make a scene or try to add any details to create a story through the art.

I dont get why ppl would be too harsh, considering this are amazing, and in a very unique art style

Considering I last drew my "male Viera" with long Sephiroth-like flowing silver locks, I wouldn't be at all opposed to the idea
