What a cop out response. OP just wanted to know WHAT he said that was wrong. No need to shill. And it's actually just as bad in WoW, arguably worse. The worst thing you can do in this day and age is offend someone and there are PLENTY of snowflakes in WoW. Trust me I've had enough forum vacations there to know. More clarification should be given but the OP likely knows what thing they said caused the report. It's hard to see with those screenshots but they say "I have a hunch what this is about" and mentions "sour grapes over dark jokes", so they probably know.

I don't exactly know what it is about. I have a hunch, true, but if that hunch is right, then it definitely is 'NOT' a justified warning. Hence why I'm really 'dying' to know what was deemed so offensive to warn me.

At a time when someone can find another's taste in various types of pizza offensive...yeah, it can be a difficult thing to sift through. We don't really know what SE classifies as "offensive language" but logic tells me all I should really need to know. In theory.

In a bottom line, all this approach will do is foster less communication, paranoia in players about what they can say in general, and like me now, ensure that people communicate less ingame overall, because I will certainly refuse to use any chat with people now that I do not know personally. It's simply too much of a risk and I'm not jeapordizing my year-long account for the subjective opinions and whims of other people.

That's the way I'm rolling - can't even remember last time I communicated in-game with strangers. Most of chat with friends also happens in either in FC or LS chat.

Future is going to be pretty dark at this rate.

It's honestly infuriating. Don't get me wrong, I get we're living in a world where 'offensive' and 'safe space' have become key words and there may be no way to avoid it, and this isn't for me about making this political, but I atleast need to know WHAT i've done wrong to not repeat it.

Some people use what could be considered offensive language in the traditional sense as part of their regular vocabulary, so some of them may be genuinely confused as to why they've been reported.

The current Prohibited Activities are as follows:
3.3 Profanity and Offensive Language. You may not use profanity or any language that a reasonable person would find offensive. The Game is for players aged 13 and older. You agree to behave accordingly.

If one doesn't understand what this does and doesn't cover, one ought not say anything. If one does understand, then one is assuming the risk for anything one chooses to say. Nobody forces one to use colorful language in their speech.

And if one wants to argue that they can't say anything without people getting offended, yes, these rules are in place because the devs and GMs have a vested interest in protecting players from exactly that sort of person.

Oh, it's definitely part of the ToS. I was just pointing out that such language is ingrained in some people's vocabulary. Definitely doesn't help them one bit while playing an MMO. Just about everyone knows what profanity entails. Offensive language though? That's an awful lot of area to cover as of late.

The GM didn't highlight the incident due to as they say, a "Privacy Policy to protect players." But I think they should have to repeat back to you what got you your violation anyway. Idc if people might find out who reported them. What are you gonna do, harrass that person and get a real strike on your account? Nah.
