He can share his opinion, but people can also inform him that his opinion is ill-formed due to his ignorance off how things progress later on. That's not an insult to him mind you, that is reality.A reminder to people saying get to endgame before you can have an opinion, they still sell this as a basic game and now you get 10 extra levels(to 60) for free, so that means Basic game Endgame is at 60 atm!
You cant really say to people, buy everything for the game and then you have the right to share your opinion.
You picked a job with probably the simplest rotation in the game—mind you, BLM rotation may be simple but it makes up for it in that you have to really know a fight to know where you can stand to perform your turret role, but that’s beside the point. The combat generally is boring imo. But thats something I’ve said since alpha pretty much. I also think it’s too fast. (well perhaps not fast but requires far to much input for what you get out)
The reason it’s boring though is because skills all feel lacklustre and combat never changes. It’s just a long ass glorified auto attack with a few flashy and sparkly effects that don’t really have any connection to the fight.
Blm for example.
Enters a fight with lets say Chaos. B3 > t3 > b4 > f3 > f4 > f4 > f4 > f1 > f4 > f4 >f4…….
same blm goes to fight Lakshmi. B3 > t3 > b4 > f3 > f4 > f4 > f4 > f1 > f4 > f4 >f4…….
same blm goes to fight Yojimbo. B3 > t3 > b4 > f3 > f4 > f4 > f4 > f1 > f4 > f4 >f4…….
same blm goes to fight Kefka. B3 > t3 > b4 > f3 > f4 > f4 > f4 > f1 > f4 > f4 >f4…….
same blm goes to fight Belias. B3 > t3 > b4 > f3 > f4 > f4 > f4 > f1 > f4 > f4 >f4…….
same blm goes to fight anything else…. B3 > t3 > b4 > f3 > f4 > f4 > f4 > f1 > f4 > f4 >f4…….
and so on and so on and so on…
Boringgggg! Oh Hey new primal in 5.0 I wonder what a blm will do.. B3 > t3 > b4 > f3 > f4 > f4 > f4 > f1 > f4 > f4 >f4……. (maybe squeeze in a new job action somewhere or swap t3 for t5..) it really is mindless
Going back to lacklustre skills the problem is nothing looks or feels powerful. And generally nothing is actually seen anyway. I play sam fairly frequently but if you hid the sen bar from me I wouldn’t be able to tell you if an attack animation was kasha or if it was gecko because outside of a different buff icon whats the difference. They’re both just flashes and sparkles lost in a myriad of flashes and sparkles from a bunch of other players..
I don’t want action style combat or anything like that but it would be nice to feel the buttons you press actually do something more add a few sparkles to auto attack. But that’s where I feel its too fast. Constantly pressing buttons but nothing ever actually happens…. Its like the difference between smacking a red striking dummy and a blue one….
Try doing this comparison with a busier job like BRD or NIN or SMN.
I hate to say this but when XIV first came out it was action based and frankly the community rioted along with all the other crap that they did to XIV. If your not aware FF has a large fan base that has been following the games 20+ years. America isn't the major following. Asia is the Giant following. Just like the Kardashians are an america thing doesn't mean it is great in Aisia. Fortunately FF fans are global. If it wasn't a great game you wouldn't have people subscribing and you wouldn't have people playing still and waited for them to fix FFXIV from it's original launch.Well ive been playing mmos for years and have noticed a decline in popularity for tab targeting bc action combat feels better and is in every way better(its a fact, you can have an opinion saying you like the combat but when people hear an mmo has action combat they jump on it fast af), all im saying about the combat is that if they dont fix the things like gravity and the fact that it feels stiff this game isnt going to continue for much longer
I do play with friends and thats the only time I really play bc I got lvl gated from progression which is a fun concept in every mmo
If you say look at 11's combat and compare it then how about you look at 15's combat, the game is known as a critical masterpiece even with its flaws, they just did them right
Also im hearing a lot people saying that this is my opinion when not really, m opinion for the game is that its good but I just want the devs to make it amazing bc its easily possible
I don't know how there are less people logging in when I never had a wait in que to log in before and now I am always waiting to log in the world. My server population doubled over night so not sure how there are less people playing.Nah, game is totally dying. I havent done any new content since like, april 16th - thats more then 2 weeks ago! There are less people logging in. Ques are taking longer. Its all over man. I cant imagine any scenario where these situations would reverse. I mean, its not like they can just release more of the game. Some sort of... addition, or enlargement... maybe an extension of some sort. Why has no company ever thought of this? Oh well, games done for. Might as well sell off my stuff and move on.

TOTALLY being sarcastic. Although, this is a pre-expansion lull right now. A bunch of people have either paused their subscriptions or are just not logging in as often right now who will come rolling back in right around early access time. The only time ive ever seen a que to log into my server was during the first couple weeks of an expansion or immediately after a patch that expanded housing wards. So while your server is busy now, id wager it could get worse this summer.
I can kind of see how someone unfamiliar with how long you've been actively posting lots of helpful stuff might have missed the beginning of your sarcasm (since disgruntled players claim a lot of weird things sometimes), but by the time you ramped it up to wondering why no gaming company had ever thought to add extended content to a game, I thought the sarcasm was blatant enough to be plenty obvious.
I could have done ninja bard or anything. the point was that the rotation never changes from one encounter to the next in any real way. sure bard might have a couple of extra pitch perfects or blood letters here and there but the basic rotation never really changes...You picked a job with probably the simplest rotation in the game—mind you, BLM rotation may be simple but it makes up for it in that you have to really know a fight to know where you can stand to perform your turret role, but that’s beside the point.

Ninja is what.. suiton > spinning edge > gust slash > shadow fang > spinning edge > gust slash > trick attack > aoelian edge.... (might be different I dont play nin so much since servers moved and lag made it horrendous.) but every boss you fight its the exact same rotation... thus boring
Lol! Just like every other game. You push the buttons in the best order you know to push them. Would you prefer your hot bar to randomize every tick?I could have done ninja bard or anything. the point was that the rotation never changes from one encounter to the next in any real way. sure bard might have a couple of extra pitch perfects or blood letters here and there but the basic rotation never really changes...
