I honestly think they could have gona full hrotgar this expansion, considering it's what adds most to the table, removed fran from he raid and given us Viera at 6.0 (or the other way around) since it makes my heart more sense than to do 2 half baked and unfinished races now and finish them both in 6.0

Even if that makes more sense that isn't what's happening so it doesn't matter.

There is absolutely no guarantee that they'll add the other genders are all much less in 6.0 and to try to use logic based on that sentiment is the literal definition of a straw man argument. You're creating a false dichotomy where SE was choosing between doing one race with two genders now and another in 6.0 or two races with one gender each during 5.0 and 6.0. Neither of those things has even been hinted at by Yoshida, in fact he's said the opposite.

Due to resource restrictions when they were making the choices for what to add they chose to satisfy two major requests (Viera and a bestial race) and to do so they had to limit the genders of each.

I really wish people would stop misrepresenting this. It doesn't add anything to the discussion and makes the push for these things look less legitimate.

False. What happened was them trying to please both groups to a degree capable within their means. A finger to both camps would have been implementing Moogles as a playable race.

Also untrue. They said that implementing them would have it's own issues. They CAN do it, technically it's possible of course. The problem is right now if they did it'd increase their workflow above their current capacity. There was absolutely nothing to the effect of "If we can we will!"

You're making as assumption that not only are they going to add the other genders (which is not confirmed and we have been cautioned to not expect) but that they have been working off of this premise this entire time and instead chose to add two genderlocked races for now only to finish them later which we literally know is not the case.

There may be plans to add the other genders now. I don't expect them but we may wind up getting them. What can be stated as fact is that the dev team didn't expect to be adding the other genders when the choices to implement one of each was made. You're strawmanning. Stop that, it makes the argument for the other genders look weak and like it can't stand up to the actual facts.

As you play through Shadowbringers, you’ll learn that both male Viera and female Hrothgar exist. While you won’t meet any in person, if we developers can find a way to address the various problems which are preventing us from implementing them, then perhaps someday you’ll be able to see them for yourself. I want to be clear that this does not mean it will eventually happen, and that I cannot make any promises at this time. I hope you will understand and bear with us.

Gee, a way to show them for lore purposes but not need to bother reworking 10k+ gear items to fit them plus forcing all future gear to have that much more time spent on it?
