If u really think k about it, you can tell Yoshida did the glass thing is to cover up the fact that he didn't give any response. Guess we have to wait to hear something. I hope they maybe get asked about it in more interviews or they give a clear response on live letter (unlikely, but I would hope so)

Nobody is actually unsubbing over a race choice not being available. Yoshida is calling their bluffs. They'll unsub maybe a month (if at all) then come back for Shadowbringers once they get over it. Personally I'd like male Viera as an option, but its far from a deal breaker.

You can tell in the letter that its not a straight up no or never like you can with the "playable children" section.

This. There was a putting the foot down moment with the child characters (thank God btw) but the genderlock excuses were the exact same ones we got at tokyo fanfest. Nothing has changed with this live letter. The only info we got is a "they're still aware we still want it to happen" statement.

Oh yeah it's a classic move of distract from bad news with whatever good news you had in your pocket. It's just like how they kept repeating "BUT THEY WILL HAVE MORE CUSTOMIZATION!!!" when they finally admitted to having the gender lock.

(Even then like... should we cheer for the new races having basic functionalities that every other race has? I mean I'm super glad the devs took the initiative to get it going despite the futility expressed when the issue was brought up, but like... shouldn't being able to see the non-belts you've equipped be a neutral thing for this game?)

While I agree that personally the exclusion of M Viera and F Hrothgar is extremely far from a deal breaker for me (gameplay and content are mine), I wouldn't be surprised or doubt people unsubbing over it. I've seen so many different reasons that people have unsubbed from various games (being outrolled on mount drops, gear drama, gameplay, content, lore changes, guilds falling apart, races, racials, etc...), but it's not in my place to tell them what to do or judge them for it.

Absolutely! Popping in once to throw out your support is wonderful, and appreciated, but what's really good for awareness is coming back every so often to re-engage with the conversation. Because it's easy to mistake silent waiting for lost interest

(Though I'd disagree that the response was "ok" imo it was just... a response. Neutral. Since nothing changed and all)

Well said. Re-posting in the spirit of keeping the unrelenting support for not only male viera, but also female roth. And to say 'no!' to any single gendered races (if they add any) in the future.
