m8 I think they were agreeing with you. Not talking to you directly when they were talking about people being in a hurry. I worry that you're so quick to jump at the slightest chance of conflict and maybe that's part of your issue with dungeons?

I get anxious about tanking things I'm not familiar with as well, but if someone in the party has a problem with it, they can leave. That should generally be how it works.

There isn't anything pay 2 win about skip potions.

Okay you skip the grind, but it doesn't make you a better player.

Using a skip potion doesn't automatically give someone an advantage over someone else.

It is not difficult to level with all the different ways now such as POTD, Squadron missions, duty roulettes, HoH.


TL;DR skip potions don't give an advantage, you just skip the grind.

And that wins them what, exactly? A fast ticket to endgame with no idea how they got there, or - you just said yourself - the learning that comes along the way. They've skipped some work but they're still going to need to learn their job if they want to actually clear endgame content themselves.

People can buy story skip and still level manually. It might actually be better that way since the story skip gives money, I think, so they can buy gears right away and also be able to just do whatever is most efficient to leveling.

Or they could buy job skip and do story manually and still go through MSQ dungeons and trials one by one and learn their job that way.

Or they can buy both and give money to SE, and hopefully FFXIV can get better funding.

It's not like leveling manually actually forces you to learn your job. There are ways to get around that even without boosting. I leveled all three healer jobs to 70 on my old character and I still don't know much about healing, only did one dungeon run with an actual group synced, mostly leveled through beast tribe and fate and solo side quests. Ok, 2, because Scholar doesn't even count since I leveled via Summoner.

How are story skips and jump potions “against the rules”? What “rules” are they breaking? List ToS rules—not personal rules.

With the critical difference that one is sold by the company that sets the rules about what you can and can't do in the game, and the other has been explicitly banned by that company.



Also you can only buy them once per character and receive a fixed amount of gil from doing so (that would have otherwise come from doing the quests you skipped).

Effectively, you're paying for the month or two of subscription time it would take you to play the content yourself, and ending up in much the same position, but with less experience.



For the record, I have purchased an ARR story skip for my third alt. I didn't want to replay ARR again, but I wanted to replay the Crystal Tower storyline. Nobody has been impacted by this except myself.

i waited 2 years for stormblood skip , no issues here ,maybe its for all those weirdos that dont really find any joy in hundred of hours spent going from npc A to npc B xD.
