It would make it more fair between those trying to get a house. If Person A is on a PS4 and person B is on PC with a macro keyboard, Person A is at a disadvantage when it comes to clicking the board. Person B could set up a keyboard macro (even though its against ToS) and just spam placard while being AFK.

Though at the same time, taking the time and willingness to sit at a placard in itself shows a person probably wants the house more than a group of people who come by and simply deposit gil for a lotto chance at the house. Instead of 1 to 3 (the number of people I see on average competing for a small house on Gilgamesh) people sitting at a placard spamming it for several house (thuse giving 100%-33% chance at getting the house if all else is considered fair), with a lotto system where people only need to drop by once and deposit and then leave, then you would have to compete against a unknown larger number of players for the house. As long as you got the gil, it doesn't take any work to enter your lotto chance so why not go for it mentality?
