last i saw this it was at 400 upvotes now over 1100 votes, i hope the devs catch sight of this and comment on both male viera and female hrothgar i bet it has surprised yoshi-p how much we want the female beast race
Edit:
Ah nice then i hope this worksYoshida has already commented on male viera/female hrothgar and mentioned that it is a possibility they will be added in the future if feedback supports it but he doesn't want to make any promises at this time due to the time and resources that would be needed. Honestly, at this point if people want male viera/female hrothgar they just need to keep voicing so to show support for their cause and hope the time and development resources are allocated to it down the line.![]()

Sometimes you just got to have Some fun

To be honest I didn't realize that so many people wanted them either. Not complaining though, I always support having more options.
It's never good to gate-keep. It's never good to make less options for players to express themselves.
Genderlocking has never been favorable, likable, or enjoyable in an MMO. Just let us have our freedom to make our characters ^_^

They didn't make "less options" for players. They made more. Here is the deal (though my post is at the top of the page)
They had time to make 1 race (male and female), but players wanted 2. So they had two choices:
1) Make male and female Hrothgar
or
2) Make male Hrothgar and female Viera
Male and female Viera was never on the table because they have no references for male Viera (so it would make their work that much harder).
So since Viera were very popular and they already had to have Fran for the 24 man content, they decided on option 2.
Yoshida has said that if they have the time and resources, and if enough people want them to the make the remaining genders, they will. But he doesn't make any promises because he isn't sure if they'll have the time and resources.

Have you even read the Male Viera thread? They made concept art for the males. They do have a reference sheet. They created it.I'm curious why you all are still even arguing about whether or not they should be implemented/SE not listening to players. That's all over and done with. Here are the facts:
1) They had time to make 1 "full" race, meaning a male and female for 1 race.
2) The community was primarily requesting two races: Viera and a "beast" race.
So Yoshida and the devs decided to split the difference and make female Viera (they don't have any reference material for male Viera) and make male Hrothgar.
Finally, number 3) is that Yoshida has said that if the community wants the remaining genders, he's not going to say "no" and would like to include them in the future. But he's not "making any promises", because it's resource-intensive and they simply might not be able to find the time/resources.
I support this thread. Please give us Ronso ladies!
Players do not have the option to make a male Viera. Players do not have the option to make a female Hrothgar. If players want to make a male Viera but don't like the Hrothgar (and vice versa) then they're S.O.L. That doesn't sound like more options to me.
Yeah, I get that time and resources are limited and they tried to reach a middle ground. But now I feel like they shouldn't have announced them at all and waited until 6.0 or something to release both genders for both races at the same time. What we're being given now is simply alienating to some players.

Precisely, they made some concept art. That's all. They have no other references for them at all. No in-game assets from any game, no direction from previous titles. Chill out man, Yoshida himself is the one that said they "don't have any references". One of the Q&A panels at Fan Fest Tokyo.

*sigh*Players do not have the option to make a male Viera. Players do not have the option to make a female Hrothgar. If players want to make a male Viera but don't like the Hrothgar (and vice versa) then they're S.O.L. That doesn't sound like more options to me.

And if they had decided on option one, players wouldn't have the option to play female Viera too. You're missing the entire point. No matter WHAT they add in Shadowbringers, we have MORE options than we have NOW.
Just because you don't like the options they added doesn't mean there are "less". Do I really need to explain AGAIN that they had time for 1 male and 1 female? We could have had male and female Hrothgar, what we are getting, or nothing. It doesn't even make any sense that you would advocate for nothing.
