Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

Everybody seems to be forgetting that they just don't have the time right now to add the other genders. Shit, they're still working on completing the Hrothgar. At least they gave us two playable races, and I'm sure that down the road the other genders will get added just like they did for races in the past. At this point, if you wanted male viera and female hrothgar at release, we would be waiting another year to get Shadowbringers at all. It's not awesome to have to wait for something you're excited for, but if you'd rather not get anything at all that's on you. At least they aren't spitting half-assed, rushed models at us just to appease. Just my two cents on the topic.

There's no way they'll be able to complete the missing genders before the release of ShB, even if they wanted to. If it's to happen, we'll have to wait a bit. It's better than having it never happen at all, though!

I don't know, that's kind of exactly what they did. There's a lot of negative feedback about what we did get, and Yoshida himself admitted they were really pressed for time with both female Viera and male Hroth. Which, more so than these particular races, is all around cause for concern regarding the state of the game imo

Idk, in my opinion the Viera look exactly as expected based on previous games. And as far as the hrothgar go, he does a good job explaining why they made it the way that they did in this interview: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...w_with_yoship/. I realize a lot of people thought it would look different. To be honest I think even the male Hrothgar are not quite complete yet, seeing as how we haven't seen the canine options at all yet. No hope for more fur though, they did touch on that topic in the interview. But when they haven't been able to show us completed races yet and people expect them to literally do double the amount of work they did in the next two months to add two more unique models. It's a stretch. Just give them time, that's all I can say.

My point was that if they're still working on the male Hrothgar before release, there's absolutely no way they would be able to complete the other genders for both before release. He said himself that they only got a working model to show recently, unlike Viera which they started making way earlier. Adding both genders to both races involves basically as much work as doing an entire new race (two more unique models), so if I had to guess we'll be getting them in 6.0(just speculation, i have no clue lol). Personally I think they're pretty cool and can't wait to see what all the options will be. And they are looking at feedback to see what changes could be made for improvements before release.

to be honest, even tho i love hrothgar, i feel like they need much more polish (i think they even are still working on them)
they should take their time with male viera/female hrothgar. better to get a good looking viera, but we get them a little bit later, than an unpolished/rushed race.

No, we're aware that it won't be immediate. I mean the main concern was that they wouldn't be adding them at all, whereas in reality it is a resource constraint issue, so they may be open to it. It's not ideal but this may have been the only way they were willing to add in two races, anyway.

Well seeing how even the Viera wont be able to wear head gear from the start, how low quality some of the Ronso faces look (and that is the most important part on that race..), how Viera and Ronso have normal feet and how they seemingly did not have Ronso ready to show at the second fanfest...sounds quite rushed to me.
