In fact I can't think of any modern large scale MMO that does things the way square does? Why? They realize that if the advertise housing as a selling point then limit it to only 10% of their customers.... They'd get called out for their stupidity.

I see this a lot in my line of work. Companies promote one thing then totally switch it up after they have your money. They get away with supplying a sub standard product because of the people addicted to their product. How hard is it to see when you're in an abusive relationship? SE is abusing you, getting away with it and you just keep coming back for more. This was an issue when HW released, years later is it fixed? NO. Why? SE isn't losing money over it.

I may be the only person willing to quit paying for the game for a few months to make things better for everyone else. I have other things to occupy my time. The old republic, ESO, etc. SE isn't the only dealer in town to scratch my MMO itch on. But by all means continue to defend you're abusive relationship and keep making it harder for everyone else to enjoy ALL the content they're paying for.
Housing does not mean only house. Housing includes apartments and FC rooms, not just houses. They're all personal spaces for you to decorate.

Last I heard, there was no problem getting an apartment on any server.

You also had the option to choose to play on a server where houses were available if you wanted more than an apartment. You chose Mateus instead.

You're being overly dramatic when you call this an abusive relationship. Stop it. Or go ahead and quit if you want. Go scratch your itch with another MMO if FFXIV isn't satisfying you.

The truth is you've done this to yourself by expecting everything to be catered to you the way you want without you having to make meaningful choice to get what's most important to you. Start taking responsibility for your choices and the consequences from those choices.

Next month, the free transfer period opens up for NA servers. IF you want a house that badly, leave Mateus and go a world that will have housing available once all the players who bought up housing just to to get their free 3 million gil transfer bonus leave. We had over 600 house availables on Coeurl back in October before the gil giveaway was announced and I expect at least half that number to become available again during the free transfer period as people move to stay with their friends on the Aether servers.

There's your chance to get a house at last. Will you take it, or will you once again play the victim card?
