With world visiting you won't have to leave your friends completely behind as long as your new server is on the same data centre as theirs. I understand that if you want to stay in the same fc this isn't straight forward. But the point is you won't be completely cut off.

You can check three out of the four housing districts on low lvl alts. Only Shirogane requires you to be high lvl. Doing that is standard practise for anyone thinking of changing server.

The housing situation is bad but calling it an abusive relationship is a huge overreaction. I wonder how you would feel if things were as bad as 1.0, back when SE knowingly released an unfinished game with no content and a horrendous ui, with severe server stability issues and performance issues to the point that the game was unplayable for so many, even several months after release. It was as bad as Fallout 76. What would you call that I wonder? A crime against humanity?

It's not a technological limitation issue.

Actually in the case of FFXIV it could be. It's built on the foundations of the extremely broken 1.0. A lot of that bad code is still lurking in the game, and it prevents a lot of things that should be standard to be introduced slower or not at all. SE had no choice but to build the game in this manner because 2.0 had to be built in record time to not lose the whole playerbase after the disastrous 1.0.

I do but I didn't always have one. During the time my character was homeless I didn't accuse SE of abusing the playerbase. I was frustrated and disappointed. But I wasn't flinging disproportionately harsh insults at SE. It's not like they intentionally made the housing system bad just to mess with players. They have even stated that they regret the way they made the system.

And it's not like I suddenly became okay with housing as soon as I got a house. I am very active in the housing forums and I regularly criticise SE's poor decision making when it comes to this part of the game. I will always feel as if housing has issues that need to be solved as long as players are unfairly left out due to how the system works. Not everyone who has a house has the attitude "I got mine, so it's all good".

I know I said my last post here was.. well the last but this one got me. I'm gonna spit some truth here.

SE isn't going to listen to anyone with a negative tone to their statement period. because they have too many morons defending them. If it isn't "OMG Yoshi P. is a GOD." SE ignores it. I don't accuse them just to insult them, I accuse them of being abusive because they are. Truth is more important than their feelings, and the matter boils down to one simple truth. They are taking advantage of the players. Their decision to say "Sorry we screwed up but we can't fix it" is a lie. What they're saying is "Yea we screwed up but we AREN'T going to spend the money to fix it." This is programming, it's not written in stone people you can recode it. They aren't going to recode it when they can just slowly trickle out more and more housing in each xpac and they sell more xpacs.

They aren't going to though because people keep defending them and feeding them money and letting them get away with it. SE isn't the problem here. It's half backed, short sighted fan bois with more money than sense. I'm not sorry if that offends people it's the truth and truth is paramount to feels in this situation. The gaming industry is filled to the brim with horrible content that's just a money grab because people are acting like a heroine addicts and defending their dealer while their dealer is poking them in the rear with a pitch fork.

I was excited to see Viera and Ronso introduced, and the new housing idea sounds intriguing but it's not enough to cover up years of them neglecting to fix the one issue the player base has been most vocal about just so they can gain more sales of the xpac.
