Aww, thank you! I was a little bit interested in male Viera myself. I don't really care for most of the male counterparts of races in FFXIV, they're all either too beefy or too tall. There's not really a race that fits the typical FF male main character archetype lookwise, all of them are quite slim and not that muscular. I was hoping maybe male Viera would fit into that, and if it didn't, no harm done I have my female Au Ra. I'm sure there's people who would have enjoyed male Viera no matter how tall or muscular they turned out to be.

hyur elezen and miquote males are slim, anf hyur and miquote are short. you can adjust musclness with a slider. I doubt male vierra would be slimmer than midlander hyur.

midlanders and miqo'te aren't "slim." Midlander has a generic average build with adjustable muscle tone. Miqo'te are rather muscular with an average upper body and slightly thinner lower body without an adjustable muscle tone.

Elezen are a little more on the lithe side yes, but they are very lanky with their odd proportions and they look bulky still, and again no adjustable muscle tone

We have no lithe male in the sense that it is more petite and frail looking.

This is exactly it. I don't really have much more to add to it. Elezen are the only race that kind of fit the bill but no male FF main character is that tall.

When it comes to me hoping that male Viera might have had the slimmer build, first of all, not all concept art is representative of the released version, see Au Ra for plenty of examples on that and second, me hoping it could have been like that doesn't mean that I was even expecting for them to look like that. It was one of those situations for me personally that it would have been nice if it happened but I wouldn't have been here flipping tables if I didn't get my wish, as unlikely as it was.

Again, You are incorrect. The only "slim" thing here is the logic. With a few exceptions the first 4 rows are all average build. "Slim" is simply refurring to being fit or more simply, not fat.

The right most one is what we are lacking.

I feel dumb for forgetting to counter this point. The only females in this game that aren't incredibly skinny are female roegadyn and lalafells. Highlanders have a touch more bulk to them but not much more. Otherwise every female in this game is super skinny.

they are not super skinny analogs to your male equivalents, the male equivalent your are asking for would be a frail and thin female which is basically the waif proportion. they have many slim/athletic females, but no frail skinny females. Women body types in this game are actually all very similar. most focused from slim to average, with one being slightly muscular.

To say it another way.
we have 0 frail skinny charachters (super thin)
(2 slim slim/average males 2-3 normal muscular males 1 stocky muscular male, with a possible second on the way.

females we have
4 slim-slim average females 1athletic average female and 1 muscular female.



similarly to males there is no female with much fat/curve (ignoring lala) the main difference is women in this game is more concentrated on slim/average and male is pretty spread out, but removing all levels of fat from builds.



seems like ff is way more against fat, normal or otherwise than anything else, though, as you said they also left out emaciated charachter types
