Tried joining the Discord, immediately smacked head on into an obstacle.

I don't say this to belittle or insult but most of the posts I see you and a few others make on this imply your views on this subject are very naive. You're saying one side should be less stubborn so the other side can be more stubborn. We need cooperation, not stubbornness.

If you were on a bus and an old lady asked you if she could have your seat because she'd been standing for hours and her back was hurting, would you tell her no, that she doesn't own the seat and you paid your bus fare? No one has a solid claim to bus seats or BA portals, it's a matter of being polite.

"Oh, your back is hurting? Here, have my seat."

"Oh, you guys have a pre-made? I'll leave the portal to you. Good luck."

Though I guess expecting people on an MMO to not act like children is fairly naive in itself, no?

IF you wish to give up your seat for another, that is kind. But are you required to, or you should be punished/hated? no.

i live in a city, with mass transportation, and everyone is trying to get somewhere. I can tell you right now, people would be highly annoyed if while they were trying to get where they are going groups constantly asked them to take the next bus please, so they can group together.
Once in awhile, sure they might, if they are nice, but it definitely would not be the rule.

how yall wish to use the content is not how it was designed, which leads to many problems, if yall adapt your formula slightly, it will lead to a lot less problems. It may be getting there now, but there are still tons of people promoting this as people using the content normally as villains, which is simply not the case.

and no one is an old lady here, these are healthy strong people, probably stronger than the people who they are telling not use the portal. Many have done the content multiple times, a d have tons of fragments.

this is almost exactly like asking someone to please requeue duty finder because you would like to get your friend in the instance. Its the discord group whose playstyle is outside of game design.

The "as the game intended" argument is getting old, it's a pointless argument as the intended way simply doesn't work correctly for most of the world due to various differences. Your argument is pretty empty and it's the same argument trolls employ. If you have to argue "It's as the game intended" in English, you've already lost the argument.

No one is asking anyone to suffer. Its just that it can take an hour or more to get a group of 48 players into the same instance of Hydatos

The only time this changes is when premade groups enter into instances to run the content. People then seek ways to steal spots and pretend they did it on accident, or they just gloat about it. So who's being rude here and trying to benefit more? If you want to organize a BA run with people in your instance, that's totally a viable option to you, but no one actually takes the initiative and does it. The Discord groups aren't forcing people to not participate, they're just trying to get into instances where there aren't already people running and organize a group/community effort. They use Discord because it is easier to handle callouts on voice chat since they can be made instantly instead of there being a delay having to type/macro those calls. (Not to mention BA shares Shout Chat with its Hydatos instance, so its not like you could set callouts to Shout.)

I've ran with the Aether BA Discord all of once for fragment runs up to AV. They were very welcoming, very helpful, and very excited to see people get clears and loot. And I'm a mostly casual player. So I'm not going in with some hardcore player mentality like a ton of people seem to believe everyone running BA has.

There are always going to be bad apples, but I think the vehement refusal to just try to cooperate in a piece of content that outright states cooperation is needed is so silly. And its causing people to defend players who are being spiteful and rude for the sake of their own selfishness. Hell our group was missing an entire party of people and we said in shout "Hey, we have a full party of 8 open to anyone who wants to join that isn't already in our premade." We *still* had people snipe other people's portals despite there being an offer made on the table to allow anyone in the instance to join the premade that was going in.

So no, these people aren't just disagreeing - they're actively seeking to disrupt something that they don't like. That's harassment.

noone does runs because ll the people who want to do BA essentially have no choice but discord, those people waiting an hour for a queue, and server hopping for hours? would have participated in 2 BAs in that time in Japan.

The large majority of issues with BA in NA is because NA culture chose a really bad meta for handling this content and at this point its ptobably too late to recover. No one believes you can actually get a BA to fire without pre groups any more, which becomes a self fullfilling prophecy

The answer is most do, but its not required, and in fact its kind of ahole ish that people expect people to give up something for some one elses benefit.

you have most BAs firing with 30% success rate, and way more BAs completed by the entire community.
