I have no doubt, they didn't know what to do with the male Viera feet and refused to give them heels, so they made a different race.I personally given up on hoping for male Vieras.
It is a huge mistake by SE.
They decided to abandon what fans wanted for so long and instead bring something no one asked for.
The leaks were proven true by 99% and I have no reason to doubt them.
Still a big mistake by SE here.
The thing is, I think they might have actually given the female viera normal feet to begin with. We can't really tell until someone can actually make one and change their footgear, but their RSE might just be really tall high heels and their feet look normal in any other gear. Fran's feet in XIV look way different than they did in XII at least.
Comments around the amount of work required to account for the feet would not have been made if it was just the one pair of shoes. The thing is, I think they might have actually given the female viera normal feet to begin with. I guess it would make them look silly if they went with regular feet after making such a big deal about the amount of work going into making the feet work. But still, to think they'd just give up on the male viera because they couldn't bear to give them heels. Sounds like taking the easy way out to just scrap them altogether on account of that.
Keep in mind this is the same studio that assigned the male bunny suit to a female dev because it made the male devs uncomfortable to work on.I guess it would make them look silly if they went with regular feet after making such a big deal about the amount of work going into making the feet work. That said, male Viera may still happen... I know as much as the rest of you.
disappointing as the last bunny debacle was, the is also the team that went out of their way to add high heels to nearly all of the sets based on the casting contest design winner when the original art had gender neutral shoes.
original concept art
vs.
in game tank & caster shoes on a lizard man.
If the heels themselves were a problem...just make them transparent on guys? The caster shoes with the heels removed would look exactly like the concept art's digitigrade feet![]()
