    The whole "You are not allowed to do the content if you don't use Discord!" thing might have something to do with that.

    That's not what actually happens, though. The true issue is "no one bothers touching a portal unless a discord group is there". I've been to tons of instances where no premade groups were there. No one bothers with BA and if some did, it's only 2 full groups max that disbands at the entrance or dies to the first boss. So if only those that are in discord do the content, it makes perfect sense why they get the mount and those that aren't using it don't.

    What hurts is when one or two random people jump in after support, not at all prepared for the twin spears, let alone AV. There isn't much that can be done to help them because they likely won't survive AV if that's their first experience with BA. In such a case, I worry that will ruin their image of it and they won't ever want to try again even if it's from the beginning.

    There's also the thing where no one Sacrifices for them because their total inexperience becomes a liability on some mechanics.

    Hilariously, while trying to finish my relic I hated that Ovni was constantly spawning instead of the crystal dragon. Now that my relic is done and I want to enter BA Ovni is nowhere to be seen. >.<

    The short is, as long as NA/EU people lack personal responsibility and accountability nothing will change, it's just the same thing that lets JP have 10x our clear rate in savage. In NA/EU we have far too many "I play how I want" people who don't know how to optimize their job and try to get by doing the bare minimum. Even using discord for BA you basically have to beg DPS to get off platebearer for AV and Ozma, their focus is not to see the group succeed, their main focus is their own survivability at the cost of other people working extra hard to kill before enrage.

    If you have never looked up what's the optimal rotation for your job then you are part of the reason why extremes trials/savage in DF and pugging BA will never happen in NA/EU.

    Ovni is on a set timer, if the map is flagged for closure or if there's anyone inside BA Ovni won't spawn.

    After making it roughly halfway through BA, I think the content itself is well designed and fun, but the death mechanics are too punishing. I get that it is supposed to be roguelike, but I don't think that meshes well with the rest of the design. It makes it harder for players to learn the fights if they're die once and are out of the run.


    I don't think they should get rid of the death penalty entirely, but maybe they could change the sacrifice logogram to be for all jobs instead of just healers? So dps players could help get other players up too. Another idea would be to make the remembered logogram give the player a buff that allows them to be raised traditionally if the proc fails. Second might be too generous, but it'd make things a lot less stressful. lol

    BA was meant to be punishing for mechanical failure, and same goes for if you aren’t armed to the teeth in Logograms. If anything, you can learn something by dying: What you did wrong.

    Part of BA is the heavy teamwork involved for all parties attempting, given you have Tanks working together to take mobs appropriately, and same goes for when doing all bosses in BA. Communication is key to success.

    oh yea, no doubt about that. It still needs to be punishing, I just would like a little more flexibility. Like even putting a consumable item in the bunny chests that lets you revive people. Just more options to get people back up if things go terribly wrong. I just hate having to leave people behind in runs.
