Oh didn't know there was an npc that could facilitate cash shop gender changes.. Is there really for most gendered cash shop items?

I figured they'd made them so because then they can get money from someone who plays multiple genders or fantasias. But if most of these items let you change them somewhere that's nice to know, I was afraid to ever change my gender if I got stuck behind something like that lol.

I think so, I could be mistaken but I think the calamity salvager or a npc next to them lets you, I'd have to double check. I mostly play female characters so I've never really had to make a swap myself but I think the werewolf costume at least there was an option to exchange...if I remember I'll take a peak after work.

OP here to clear up some confusion!
Yes I'm dead serious. I'm mad that an item I was excited for is both gendered and one version is disappointing
And there's only one in-game item, it just looks different depending on your character's gender when you wear it, so there's no chance of selling separate items on the mogstation OR exchanging it at the Calamity Salvager

You can't exchange items that were bought off the mog station, only rewarded from the quest, so this isn't entirely impossible... I can see that being part of the "plan", but I also think that some of it is just good old gender bias. These are still the devs that had to hand the male bunny suits to the female devs because the male devs felt "uncomfortable" - so I'm betting that someone, somewhere, felt offended by the idea of pink flowers on male characters.

It could also just be to artificially inflate the number of items they have on offer so that it doesn't seem quite as paltry as it has before. I don't know, but either way, it's just... tiring.

Agreed. Still think it's a really stupid thing that they did. Especially as having both options available for our own choice (and even making the other available via tokens as they did with the chair mounts, ghost minions, etc) would prolong the event and give them more stuff to sell.

I knew something like this would happen. Anyone and their mother will find anything to complain about. If you aren't happy with the item, throw it in your armoire never to see the sun again. You can still use flower corsages if you're seriously that upset over it. Plenty to choose from.~
