I like the male one better. I wish they'd just make them the same.

It's foreshadow for the gender locked races! (Bad joke, I know)
Seriously though, It's a weird choice, specially considering the event is meant for girls.
Well that's annoying. I'd like a leaf or no-leaf choice on my characters regardless of their gender.
edit: Just noticed the bit about the faded dyes on the female version after doing the quest in-game. Faded dyes are horrible.

Really? D: Wow, that's disappointing... I was really looking forward to this item and even made a fresh glamour to go with it, but I'm super bummed that the female version doesn't dye well (and the little leaf bits would've been nice too - overall the male one just looks way better). Idk if it'll even go with my glam now thanks to those undyeable pink flowers... =_= Lame.
I like both crowns but this really didn't need to be gendered both would look good on both genders and would've added a bit more customising if both were available to both genders. I mean they acknowledge that males could be waiting for their sancetshal implying they can be princesses too so why can't the females have the male version
Guy butt is best butt <3
Is the OP being serious or this just a "haha kidding" thread![]()
It's serious, because it's seriously stupid. It's just another eyeroll moment because it tells me that even if I don't care about this item (just not my char's style), they're going to keep doing this crap with other items, and probably ones I want.
If I had to guess, and perhaps be a little bit conspiratorial about it, I'd suggest that there are two crowns to increase the chance and amount of money they might earn from selling said items on the cash shop later.
I suppose gender locking isn't a required part of it but I think gender locking increases the chance of fantasia then lol.
Or in other words.. besides some really stretched logic not sure why the crowns are locked haha
Edit: apparently the crown is ONE item, so in this circumstance the above isn't true.. I still think it's a thing for other items but here.. it's not the case. Just wanted to edit my post to prevent misinformation. (Haven't logged in to do the quest yet, gotta get home first lol).

This is kinda dumb.
I get why they gender lock some outfits. It saves them time having to fit them to different models, as the way I understand it that has to be done manually in FFXIV for each race/gender combo.
But for flower crowns? Really? A full outfit I can understand but this is just baffling.
I'm not interested in either anyway so no skin off my nose but this strikes me as odd.
Maybe but with these items like the werewolf costume I think there's a npc you can exchange one gender's version for the others?
