Here's what the men should look like:
Just stick some bunny ears on the above and we're sorted.

More than likely a mix of both regardless of what we get.
Result 1:
Happy people who wanted male Viera & Mildly upset people talking about lore and stuff.
Result 2:
Lore people going “See? They agree.” & Angry people who wanted male Viera.
Unless...
Result 3 (Least likely):
Everyone’s flipping out because the Viera & Hrothgar aren’t gender-locked and are coming out at the same time.
I can’t help but wonder what type of excuses Yoshi-p would use if genderlock happens though.
Well if he gives me dancer, I won't mind the genderlock.
I wish I could just skip to March... The suspense is absolutely wrecking me. :c
Umm. Well thats easy. To kill the qq-rage instantly, would be telling us that they dont feel comfortable yet to show any male Viera (beside it is a race throughout Ivalice games and not exclusive to FFXIV only). So I could actually imagine them using the joker card "Sorry, we cant do it due to lore reasons and future games, please understand - thx, see ya. xoxo" (and with lore I talk about Viera lore in general not only in FFXIV)
I'd be disappointed if that would be the case. I mean, instead of adding female Viera only and causing a genderlocked race - they could of simply made a brand new race to FFXIV and dodged this whole subject.

I don't think he will need excuses. I feel like from a Japanese developer perspective it's like hey we are giving people who play females something and people who play males something, we're golden. I am sure the backlash wasn't even in their mind until recently when this thread went up and now it's probably way too late to do anything about it.
