Of course they have actually. They've given us cat boys and lots of nice costumes but now my support depends on whether or not they add male Viera and dancer. Otherwise, I'll go play something else.

Presumably even if people don't get what they want there's at least one other existing option that they find agreeable. If Hrothgar aren't added or they aren't to my personal tastes then I'll continue to stick with playing a Midlander. Potentially a Highlander to shake things up a bit.

It doesn't change what you mean, but it dose change what you know. One implies you know for a fact that it damaged 1.0, the other implies you think it did, your meaning can and dose stay the same but that one change makes a massive difference.

I would not have played version 1.0 with its gender locked races. My brief time in FFXI also kinda sucked because I wanted to play a male mithra there too, but was stuck playing as a boring Hume.

It's the internet, of course it's bound to come down to name-calling. I do agree that it only fans the flames instead of actually progressing rational and logical discussion, but hey, who needs that? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Provocation isn't going to make things better.

While viewpoints may differ and end on on different ends of the spectrum, people should remain calm and not jump the gun. This goes for both sides of the debate.
