Gender locked race?

Is it weird that I'm hyped for male Viera just because I think they'll have long hairstyles that hopefully won't look ass?

Seeing how cute and elegant the female Viera are makes me want to play a male Viera even more. Can't wait for the next 1000 page thread of us asking and Yoshi-P refusing because of his personal tastes.

I'm just hoping to see whether Yoshida will actually pull the genderlocked trigger. If the dev team is actually insane enough to piss off people that were fanatic enough to ask for the bunny suit 5 years in a row at multiple different fan festivals.

I know that folks have their different opinions and all that, but I honestly will never understand when folks come into a thread that's obviously going to be filled to the brim with fans wanting something only to just you know, crap on it? Sounds like a recipe for salt for the sake of just being 'that dude'.

Lol I've been posting in this thread for like a week now and not just crapping on it. The guy posted that roes with long hair would be Pantera. Then proceeds to post humanoids with bunny ears. Maybe read the rest of the thread. Most of my comments have been logically thought out.

The problem is...Roegadyn are basically pantera. If you want to make one look like a wolf or a cat it's pretty easy, and they have that stocky look that crowd seems to want. We don't have a way to do the same for Viera males though. We have tall/lanky humanoids, but the bunny ears we currently have are a tiara that clashes with the whole "forest warrior" look. The only other way to make a male Viera seems to also be through modding, but I shouldn't have to bother with that if I want to make a male Viera. I pay enough to not have to resort to those methods. If we don't get male Viera due to someone's personal preferences then I'm gonna exercise my personal preferences too and spend the money for Shadowbringers on Red Lobster instead.

To be honest though at the point of saying Pantera look like Roe then Viera look like what we already have too.

I'm not saying we can't play these games of X looks like Y but if we're going to give as much leeway as we need to say Pantera = Roe.

Not stopping you from posting that obviously lol, but I'm really not a fan of "Pantera isn't special because Roe+face paint+horns/hair" when you could do very much the same thing to Viera then.

I DO NOT want to stop male viera but I would take Pantera over male Viera as my race change, if I were to fantasia. That and I do feel Pantera would be unique to the FFXIV universe in terms of looks (x+y+z = "pretty much Viera").

Of course Pantera isn't what SE has confirmed, they've honestly not confirmed anything lol, so it's a bit.. "eeeh" to talk so distinictly about Pantera.. But they do have that feeling of "what SE might do if they were to make a lion-like ronso-like race and we consider that Viera foot system was just added" (which a lion like race would probably also use, making them more distinct from Roe).

There's some similarities but mostly in the faces. Otherwise yeah, they're 2 completely different races. I would also love to see something like that though. If the Ronso rumor holds true (which would be as close to Pantera as this game would get) I may be switching races again depending on how they're built. Not because of Pantera though, I've never played Bless. I just like the idea of a lion-esque race.

I'm very confident in saying that the devils advocate posters that want a "beastly" race are getting hrothgar. You are getting a bara cat race with a majestic mane. You win that. But we want male viera and female hrothgar. Along with just not wanting genderlock in a game that isn't cheap and pandering. It's not cool that the devs are ignoring us.
