Gender locked race?

Just curious if this image uploaded by Tonrak ever got posted somewhere on this thread (quoted below)... or if Cyrillien's sketch from tumblr was also suggested. It is indeed a tedious matter trying to dredge through 149 pages and I will not attempt it.

By the way... it would seem that page 150 now seems a reality.

I certainly would've wanted a tall beautiful race that's all about isolation and keeping up appeasing the Wood. Elezens could have been that, but they're not since they're just transferred over Elvaan.

Other than the males, it should not be too hard creating the race since Viera already exists in other game... And we know how many of FF12 mobs have made it too FF14. As for male they have plenty of examples:

I did wonder how they were going to have all the emotion shown if the Hrothgar was more beast like. I could hardly see the emotion in the beast tribes. No, I certainly can't see it being that much of a stretch myself.

I had trouble seeing it with Khajiit in elder scrolls as well... just the mouth area and jaw. I suppose. I can't imagine it looking right in this game - but they could surprise me.

I just fail to see it happening, to be honest. I've been looking at this thread ever since it started, and while I do like the idea of a more beasty looking race (Ronso?) in the game, we have so many masks, hats, headbands and etc that would just be too complicated to be made work on a race that is pure gamble. SE has no idea, as far as I can tell, if Hrothgar is even going to be a successful race or not, so I don't see them stepping outside of the safe zone with character design, because changing every single piece of gear in the game requires a lot of resources that would be too risky to "waste" on a design that might be an absolute fail for the majority of the playerbase.

That, on top of what you said. We have so many expression emotes and so many facial references even to skills, battle stances and etc, that I'm pretty sure Hrothgar, even if "beasty", will be as humanized as possible. Everyone knows that the true endgame is going to be Glamourbringers and /gpose, so the race has to follow a certain pattern to look good with most of it.

Both look really nice. Since Viera are really in tune with the wilderness, I hope that the men can have really long hair. I noticed this from when I briefly tried WoW that some elf races have males with longer hair than the females, which I thought made them look way more fantasy-like and heroic. The current options males have for long hair are not that good. We have one with an annoying cowlick, one with with an out of place white bead that clashes with most of my outfits, and one that would be so cool if they removed the random circlet they decided to place on it.

The point was: Knowing SE they won't step outside of the box too much with character design. They like consistency, hence why so many people say that all the races are just Hyur with blank.

... Y'all are taking the pictures way too literally. I just meant it as a funny remark that, without the race being very beasty, which I find very unlikely to happen, I don't see a way for them to introduce a "lion race" that won't just be compared to Miqo'te in the end.
