FFXIV 2nd expansion: Viera-like race still a possibility?

I certainly would've wanted a tall beautiful race that's all about isolation and keeping up appeasing the Wood. Elezens could have been that, but they're not since they're just transferred over Elvaan.

Other than the males, it should not be too hard creating the race since Viera already exists in other game... And we know how many of FF12 mobs have made it too FF14. As for male they have plenty of examples:


The only reason why it's "Weird" to have male viera is that people like to sexualize female rabbits

I'd be happy with Viera being added, personally. It'd make my S/O extremely happy since it's their favorite race in FF. For those that say it'd be just "another humanlike race with animal ears", I say, they could easily give it a more animal-inspired face set, have the nose, mouth etc be more rabbit like, with humanesque (not solid black) eyes, and the bunny ears, taller like the elezen are, they could look really good imo and could fit into the "slightly less human looking" box at the same time if done proper

They could have easily made the Au Ra less human looking (I hate to keep beating this dead horse, but let us once again remember the concept art...), but they ultimately opted not to.

Lol! I really..REALLY dislike the Au Ra! There needs to be an option to turn those ugly scales off completely. They ended up looking like scabs.

I disliked the concept art, personally. Much prefer the way Au Ra ended up being, myself. Had they looked like the concept, I'd probably have stayed a midlander.

Given that there are actually two rabbit races in the franchise and the thought being Viera looks to much like a reskinned miqote/mithra . Has it ever been a possibility that a remodeled Hummingway could be an alternative to the Viera? Or perhaps were the Viera a remodeled Hummingway in the same manner Quirrin are loosely derived from Burmecian?




Either way if the writers do any future cut scenes on the moon at least one of them would be likely. Although you'd think they would have been on Dalamund or Azys lla given everything.

Now that I think about it. If the Hummingways are made into a race about the size of Lalafell's and used the same body type but had the fuzzy looking skins of moogles instead. They could take the legacy noses for Tarutaru and make a variety of them as a default selection. This could in a way make a more beast like race that fits into the current gear and may make them look similar to Moogles in Tactics but with out the pompom and wings. That would be at least an interesting compromise for something rabbit based and a nod to Moogles in the tactics and possibly FF12 as being playable.

Dude, Yoshi himself said that Au Ra could look like succubi, he's already sexualizing the races himself. Not to mention the miqote/catgirls that are sexualized in nearly every anime everrrrrrr so where's the reason to not have viera in here again?

But anyway, of course the "Sexualizing" would be dumbed down by removing any existence of a butt of any kind, and a fairly limited boob slider, which right now highlander hyur sized is the biggest so far and its far from oversexualized. surprised no one mentioned the hempen shirt for fem highlanders, is that not overly sexualized too since the viera race is too much??

Not a fan of the viera. They seem too similair to miqote and (female) au ra..

How I'd like to see them is more like an Elezen, even taller if you count the ears. Beast-like stance on the feet, though I'd imagine they wouldn't do that sadly, on account of current shoes needing to touch the ground.
