If you mean me, I was making a joke because of earlier comments in this thread talking about lore showing whether they would be playable or not. Honestly if this thread becomes a lady Hrothgar thread after so many people dismissed the idea of Hrothgar in the first place I'll just be mind-blown lol.

TBF we had no clue on Hrothgar till more recently but absolutely include them in the discussion i would want to see them added as much as male Viera if Hrothgar was Gender locked to males

That'd be the ideal outcome for everyone! We can dream at least. I think the most likely scenarios are them showing a longer Viera trailer with both sexes and more customization options and making no mention of Hrothgar at all OR them unveiling Hrothgar as the male only complement to Viera.

We really have no clue what is going on with Hrothgar. Everything we know so far is just from leaks and that coding bug.

That's a pretty interesting prospect, IMO.

I wouldn't rule out the possibility of the whole "leak" being a trial balloon, to see what fan reaction is. Slightly cruel but it provides an insight in the form of conversations taking place on the matter, particularly given how little information we have on these Hrothgar, including whether it's even an actual race and not just a false lead.

If it turns out that the Hrothgar ARE the Viera males that'd really be something! If that's the case we've been freaking out over nothing. XD It is a bit out there, but I think it is within the realm of possibility. Viera males and females live completely separate lives and rarely ever see each other so it'd make sense if their culture was different enough to consider them a different race altogether.

The thing is, didn't the French leak also seem to indicate that the Hrothgar were actually added to the code earlier than Viera were? I think someone in this thread mentioned that as well (or maybe I'm misremembering it). If that is the case, it is really hard to judge their plans for them. If they were in development before the Viera, then why haven't we heard anything about them till now? Very confusing.

And would be so much easier to do once the first time rather than go back later if they do intend to unlock them (if they were locked). Especially if they knew they were locked and going to unlock them later.

Like people talking about a race each expansion where they have to go through all the files many times or how about two at once and they go through it all in one neat pass? Also consider if they're lion-like feet/Ronso feet that they will also use either the same or very similar feet as Viera (meaning even better use of time when going over shoes and the system it'll need). Ronso have almost exactly the same feet while a lion bent foot would just be Viera without the high heel part really, so the system being there would be very helpful.

Alternatively if they had long ears or horns maybe the new helmet system would be used for this too, whatever that system may be.

Going through once right is more effective than touching the same thing 8 different times for 12 different reasons XD.

I think that was someone extrapolating just based on where they were placed in the list of races, which isn't 100% proven. But also, the very obvious reason could be that they have been in the cards since Viera were planned as the counterpart to a female-only Viera, which that interview stated might happen 5 years ago or however long ago it was.

Aye, to be honest. It confuses me that Hrothgar was programmed into the game first. Which means, that if they were male only then the idea to have a male-only race - if they were gender locked - came way before the Viera did. So, hmm - if Viera's lore was already in place then wouldn't it be first to be completed, but it seems to be the opposite after looking at that lack-lustre preview of the females.

That's what gets me. Unless they were all programmed in at the same time, and Hrothgar was just first then Viera due to some sort of alphabetical shenanigans.
